Saban takes a MASSIVE shot at Jimbo.

I finally found the quote from an old Texas Monthly article I was looking for to explain the Texas and A&M mentality about spending money on NIL.

It was “Yes, this is America, and Texas to boot. We have the God-given right to waste our time, money and resources on any folly that strikes our fancy.”

basically saying Nick was telling the truth.. i take it Steve has no love for Jimbo. I've seen more people come out and begin to call the Jimbo PC a tantrum

Both were right and both were wrong.

Saban was right with his concerns and that something needs to be done. Also, taken in full context, what he said wasnt as bad as has been portrayed. But he was wrong to single anyone out and imply they cheated.

Jimbo was right to defend his program and call Saban out. But he was wrong for overreacting and going as far as he did. He shouldnt have dragged in Sabans past assistants.

yep.. i enjoyed it. Loved the I like confrontation quote but then goes on to say he didn't take Saban his call and he won't lol. He also said he learned the right way from Bowden lol.. Jimbo also has had a show cause.

On the other end, Saban telling everyone that they are buying players through collectives.. which is apparently worse than being able to pay for a kid in brown paper bags, evidently.

It’s kind of a joke. Saban has been paying players for years. Jimbo is the biggest sleeve in CFB and he wants to separate himself from people? Not to mention the recruiting record is clear and it is beyond moronic to pretend that something new didn’t happen. That said this is like trying to pick who is the good guy in a fight between Stalin and Hitler

On one side we have guys like Saban, Dabo Swinney and Brent Venables who are urging caution when they talk about all the changes that are happening in CFB. On the other side we have Jumbo, Muleshoe and Sarkisian who are big supporters of the current Wild West Show. It will be interesting to see 3 years from now who was mostly right.

Hey, if you're being accused of cheating? Point out Saban's hypocrisy of cheating.

Since there's no football right now.....we as fans needed this.

LOL.

Riley has actually already said that things are going to need to change before Saban and Jimbo had their meltdowns and USC hasnt even set up a collective. So please, tell us more about him being a ''big supporter of the Wild West Show''.

You are just seeing the game come out of the shadows. This shit has been going on for years. Only way it gets better is if the NCAA starts policing what is going on, but given their response to the FBI case that is not happening. That was the death of the NCAA as a regulatory body

@Codaxx, you can't be serious that this is just business as usual. What's going on now is a quantum leap from when a school would provide something to a player. That's like saying a wife kissing an old boyfriend at a class reunion is the same as her swimming out to meet troop ships.

As far as NIL, I agree with what, I believe, @Wild Turkey said the other day. It will actually likely be the companies doing the NIL deals themselves who will slow it down. After they've had some kids who signed big deals spend a season or 2 on the bench and then transfer....they won't be offering so much, so quickly.

Yes, pretty odd comment.

Yes, pretty odd comment.

Sooners fans are just scorned women lashing out at this point.

Which is odd considering they seem to think they have a much better coach now.

The way some of them talk about him, especially compared to Venables, you'd think they would be thanking USC for ridding their program of him.
