So what is the latest news on the OU and Texas to SEC situation?

They beat Notre Dame by more than Okie Jr did.
Cincy 24-13 (11 pts)
Okie jr 37-35 (2 pts)

Cincy's win was also in South Bend.
Okie jr's on a neutral field.
bro, we are talking about a regular season where they would be playing iowa st, baylor, ou, UT, etc. Sure you can think/project they could have finished undefeated but it would be much more difficult then what they faced last year in the regular season.

LOL. Serious?

They'd have beaten tejas as bad as they'd have beaten Nebraska.

Their only tough games would have been Baylor and Oklahoma

they would have gotten smoked by us for 3 quarters

possibly play those teams.
7 team division projections would have Cinci in a division with
BYU, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State
if we assume a 9 game conference schedule as the Big XII has been playing we can assume a 3-0 non conference slate as they were undefeated as such
what 3 teams they draw from the south could just as easily included Houston and UCF who they beat. if they drew Texas, TT, TCU or WVU they walk through easily. Baylor is the only South team to worry about last year.
i see no issue with Kansas, Kansas State or Iowa State last season.
Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and BYU are the three toss ups.

if we use mutual opponent (yes we all know its not accurate)
we can look at Tulane who lost to OK by 5 but lost to Cinci by 19
BYU beat South Florida by 8 while Cinci beat them by 17
as noted Notre Dame played Oklahoma State and Cinci and lost by 2 and 11 respectively
Tulsa is another mutual to OK State and Cinci with a 5 and 8 point loss to each

Baylor and Cinci had no mutuals

this isnt to say they would go undefeated but its possible

Cincy would not have finished unbeaten in the regular season a year ago if they were playing in the Big12
Yep. They'd have been in the mix at 7-2. Same for BYU. They played Baylor as well as anyone.

CFB is a game of depth. You get banged up as the year goes on. P5 teams are better meaning you are going to get more beat up playing better schools, even if they aren’t great. What would Cincy do if they had to go into their 2 deep more? That’s one difference between G5 and P5.

Depth is massive in the SEC and OU and UT are going to be surprised. That was Malzahn’s real down fall because even in really good years we struggled to actually field a full roster at the end of the season.

Just ask Alabama, who has the most depth of anyone, how that affected their team last year.

That difference also exists with the P5s. Top of the P5s have much better depth than the rest of the P5s IMHO. The top has young 4*-5* behind the starters/two deep. The rest of the P5s have 3*s...and some of them are lower 3*s.

That said, the portal may help to mitigate that difference a little bit.

it can but for every 4 star that you take, probably means another one leaves.. what would worry me more is if the development kids that usually fill in the back 5-7 players in the class are now not takes since the portal is so attractive

and????

y'all lost to stanford.. who lost to KSU who lost to US.. #HookEm
im not the one making claims about smoking a team that went 13-1

To be fair, his post was mostly a joke pointing out how Texas had the lead in most of their games last year but blew it in 4th quarter. In fact, he is probably right based on the trajectory of the Longhorn season, they would probably be up on Cincinnati in the 3rd quarter and then lose it in the 4th quarter.

Longhorn team is loaded with talent and probably more talented than Cincinnati but they definitely are not more mature/discipline and Cincinnati's discipline/maturity would win them the game.

Is there some correlation to Cincy here?
yes its called butthurt correlation where the only comeback is deflecting a point that actually has no relevance to the conversation to make himself feel better about losing to Kansas.
