The scariest stadiums to play in are the home stadiums of the best team. Not because of the crowd, but because a damn good team plays there. Auburn is the only stadium where the fans make a real difference

I think we need a biggameboomer ban. No one is afraid of playing at Michigan state. They can't even sell that place out when they're good. To have MSU ahead of Ohio State is silly.

Gotta give the guy credit. He's become the Paul Finebaum troll of the cfb twitter. People can shit on him for his dogshit takes, but he gets the exact reaction he wants. I had never heard of the guy prior to last season. Now I see people up in arms over one of his lists every week almost.

And it takes him zero effort or any bit of research on each one of his lists to rile people up.

I disagree. The teams high on this list don't always have great teams but there is something about their stadium where better teams lose a little advantage and seem to always be on upset alert.

Iowa's visiting sideline is small. It is 7 yards from sideline to front row bleachers. Opponents have talked about how fans seem right on top of you. Even when Iowa has bad teams, they rarely get blown out or upset at Kinnick.

I think there are times the pink locker room have made a difference. Like when Harbaugh had the walls covered and a weak Iowa team upset a better Michigan team. I believe it was the intended purpose that Hayden Fry had when he did that.

VT has beaten like 2 ranked teams at home since 2009. It continues to be one of the most overrated venues in sports. Enter Sandman is a decent entrance. Outside of that, its a solid environment. But nothing like a lot of the other big names out there.

I don't 100% agree with the list. I will agree with you about VT.

Auburn didn’t make the list. Guess which stadium Nick Saban has had the most trouble in. Even last year, a mediocre Auburn team gave Bama all they wanted.

Alabama is a tough place to play because Alabama plays there, it wasn’t that way before Saban.

I’d like my team’s chances @ Iowa more than I would hosting Bama.

This is BS. You guys think scary is losing a game. The “scariest” has to be the Sun Bowl. Where else might a player or fan actually get killed?

A QB with a decent arm can throw it from the Sun Bowl press box on the West side of the stadium, over Interstate 10, the Rio Grande into the slums of Juarez. And the return fire from Juarez is in the form of bullets.

And Tennessee? They have loyal, loud fans, but they don’t really seem to help the football team keep it close against Bama and UGA

(1) Absolutely 100% ... The fans are a little crazier when there team is in the hunt for a national championship.

(2) Penn State was the first (and only) time I ever saw a crowd win a game before the game started. They had one of their white outs, and my thoughts were ... we can win this game. Then the opening kick off happened and Saquon Barkley ran it back for a TD. I couldn't turn away from this slaughter.

Nebraska is like 13 - 17 at home since 2017.
Those wins are against Arkansas St, Bethune- Cookman, South Alabama, Northern Illinois, Fordham, Buffalo, with a few Rutgers, Illinois, Sparty, Northwestern, and Penn St sprinkled in.

Who is #8?

Penn State has a very mediocre record in white out games IIRC

Michigan gets pretty loud and fun, but they are far from the scariest. Rightfully, they do not belong on the list.

Who is #24? If I don't recognized them ... they ain't scary.

Pretty much. In the B10 my order of "do not want to play there" would go

1. Penn State
2. Ohio State
3. Wisconsin
4. Iowa
5. Nebraska

I can't say where Michigan Stadium ranks in that but we're pretty inconsistent in terms of intensity.
