My uncle was a tractor mechanic and he’d do side jobs where the farmers would pay him in produce…always loved when he’d do work for the cherry & artichoke farmers. He’d get five gallon buckets filled with fresh produce.

I thought this year the prices would be much cheaper since China isn't buying as many. I've wanted to make cherry wine for the longest time, but I balk at the price for the amount of cherries I would need for such an endeavor.

Then again, Koreans of his generation (although not to the extent of the generation older than his) tend to have some pretty hard feelings toward the Japanese, given the Japanese occupation, and all.
