$ 1,000.00

No ESPN per report.

Fox at Noon
CBS at 3:30
NBC in primetime.

LOVE this deal for the league.

no ESPN is interesting b/c it has been rumored that these TV networks have played a huge role in the recent conference realignment moves

NBC has a strange obsession for slow ppl from the midwest. very weird fetish.

Yeah basically Fox(B1G) vs. ESPN(SEC). Gotta get the most bang for your buck.

It'll be weird not watching B1G college bball on ESPN. FS1 and FS2 will be the place to be now for that.

NBC in prime time? Does that mean anything for ND joining the B1G or is it just for the big game. Kinda shocked fox wouldn’t want that late spot too.

I read this as NBC expanding programming moreso than anything to do with ND.

I'm not really sure. I don't think this would lead to ND joining the league specifically because of this deal. Also, if the B1G continues with what they've done, the primetime games will only be September and October. So I'll be curious if NBC gets games at 3:30 as well. The B1G has done it before putting games on ABC/Fox at the same time, especially in November. My guess is that they schedule around the ND primetime games. There's usually only two of those per year as is.

That’s what I kind of figured (on ND joining the B1G) but wasn’t totally sure.

I think it’ll be interesting with that prime time game regardless. Fox seems to want there big games at noon, is the B1G really going to want a big game on at noon while a lower notch game is the prime time one on NBC? Time will tell and I’m sure when USC and UCLA comes aboard their home Games will almost have to be 3:30 if not late. But again I could be wrong on that as they did play noon ET games a few years ago.

$350 million distributed among the 14 teams is $25 million/school.
$350 million distributed among the 16 teams is just under $22 million/school.

This is for the rights to the 2nd best game.

I can see ND getting above $50 million based on this deal from NBC. Probably $60 million too.

That's a terrific deal.. To be on 3 major networks.. Wonder if CBS now ends the SEC agreement early

As I heard the rumored structure, Fox will get B10 noon games, CBS will get the 3:30 and NBC will get the primetime slot. Neighborhood of $1.25 billion in total. Seems like NBC might be shelling out big money. but getting on 3 major broadcast networks in 1 deal is huge, it also dramatically increases who can access your games.

I am hearing a rumor about a relationship between B1G and Notre Dame where Notre Dame stays independent but provides matchups to the B1G for NBC and Fox.

Yeah. I'd earlier said that NBC would likely use another conference to supplement the ND deal. I don't see the $75 million ND asked for, but I can see north of $50 million.

ND threw the $75 million out there as just a starting point. At $55 - $60 million both ND and NBC will walk away feeling like they got a good deal.

Official. No B1G on ESPN.

Yeah, that's also what I heard as well. I'm wondering if there will be some type of clause that when ND is in a primetime slot, the B1G game will start at 3/3:30 ET. This is of course assuming that NBC/ND come to an agreement. Or maybe ND just won't have primetime games on NBC. But that'd be dumb from NBC's perspective because ND primetime games will outrate the 3rd best B1G game.

Where are you hearing this? Would this mean we essentially get out of the agreement with the ACC? And basically do what we're doing with the ACC and get 5 games with the B1G? That would certainly be interesting. If that's the case, we'd never be on espn/abc either.

Not sure. Notre Dame isn't joining the B1G, they are just aligning some OOC matchups and TV deals based on rumor. I don't think it would impact ACC deal.

I imagine Notre Dame wants to keep some of the matchups with the new B1G: USC, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, etc.

Again it is just RUMORs.

So if ESPN is out of the BiG business.. It's going to take care of the current ACC and do what it can to get the Big12/Pac into their boat, right? Just not sure that they have enough channels.. Guess they are doubling down on ESPN plus

I get they wouldn't be joining the B1G, I was curious if this agreement you're hearing would replicate what ND has with the ACC? If ND keeps the games with the ACC, has the 3 games with Stanford, USC and Navy, that leaves 4 games. I can see a scenario where ND does like a home and home with 2 B1G schools per year. But then we'd never play an SEC team. Which I think we'd still like to do.

They could keep the ACC 5 game deal.

Keep the Stanford and Navy annual games.

That's 7.

Keep the annual USC game (now Big 10).

That's 8

Leaving 4 open spots for other Big 10 games.

Ka-Ching $$$
