Serious question, and the only reason I was think ASU might have the lead is just the fact that they are surrounded by more talent, and therefore easier recruiting.

Nebraska is in the middle of no where, and if you are a young guy walking on campus, do you go to the corn fields, or to the school that requires tan women to wear little to no clothing?

Nebraska. One maybe two good seasons would turn recruiting around for them. Not so much for ASU. Huge fanbase and financial opportunity compared to ASU as well.

AZ is a good state for recruiting, and Cali isn't car away at all, with Southern Cal providing a lot of great talent for ASU.

Nebraska tries to get Texas recruits, but there are a million local schools doing the same.

I think AZ money wise is very close. Herm was around $3m/yr, and I think Frost was $5m/yr.

Lastly, a visit to Lincoln won't lure a recruit like a visit to Phoenix/Tempe
 
Nebraska imo if I were a coach. ASU was relevant once in my life. Jake Plummer and Pat Tillman were on the 96 team that beat NU then got put back into irrelevance by David Boston and Joe Germaine in the Rose Bowl.

ASU has no where close to the resources Nebraska has financially. If a football recruit is worried more about girls on a visit than training facilities then he probably isn't a recruit you want. Nebraska has top ten in the country.

Despite their very real recent struggles Nebraska is still a blue blood and requires very little to gain a lot of momentum.
 
Nebraska, I dont buy that whole "Cant get players to go there cause in the middle of nowhere" stuff.

Penn State, Notre Dame, Iowa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, WVU, VT, just to name a few aint exactly must see destinations outside of the universities and football teams and they have all been better than NU in this recent stretch. You get a coach that has his act together and NU can be really good really quick and that brand and fanbase is > ASU's ever will be not to mention a better conference/ more money.
I mean KANSAS is 3-0 for goodness sakes.

Only thing ASU has going for them is there's less to contend with in the PAC-12, especially once USC and UCLA move. Not only does Nebraska have to deal with Wisconsin (and to some extent Minnesota/Iowa), but there's also the Big Ten East with OSU/Mich/MSU/Penn St. The Pac-12 has been pretty down for a while now outside of Oregon (and even they've been kinda meh outside of that 2019 season). USC's looked great but it's only been three games, and they'll be moving soon.
 
Probably can get a more lucrative contract at Nebraska due to TV money.
At the same time, your chances of regaining former glory there are next to zero.

If you can get Nebraska back to their ceiling of 8-9 win seasons, then go for it.
 
ASU, all mfkn day. NE's too cold in the fall, corn fans are weird, and I'm already depressed enough.
