tOfficial PAC-12 Thread

Not really going to change my prediction on UW's season just yet. Had them as an 8 or 9 win team.

Penix hasn't played more than 6 games in any prior season because of his many injuries? Probably the biggest worry.

The offense in general is explosive and being called by a competent staff. Great adjustments, had answers for blitzes and pretty much everything thrown at them. My only bitch is they couldn't punch in the ball with first and goal at the one. 4 straight plays. How are they going to do against some of the beefier lines in conf?

They did have fortune on their side though. Penix got away with at least 2 throws that could/should have been picked off.

Still one of the best offensive days I've seen in a long time. It wasn't 70-21 kind of good, but better managed.

I still have questions on the defense. MSU did come back late after being down 25, but also shot themselves several times. The safety was one as the runner tripped over his own lineman and downed himself in the end zone.

4th straight home game to start the year next week. See what happens.

Michael Penix Jr.- Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week
Ja'Lynn Polk- Pac-12 Freshman of the Week
Troy Fautanu- Pac-12 O-Lineman of the Week
Kalen DeBoer- Dodd Trophy National Coach of the Week

They actually held up the game in the 4th quarter for quite a while because some ass hat had a drone directly over the field. Haven't seen that one before. They were talking to the police about it.
Announcer said they should have a rule that the home team should forfeit. Like that wouldn't get rivals to go fly them over fields to get them disqualified.

It eventually flew away.

I'm sure it's not the last time we will see this sort of thing.

PAC 12 lines this week:

#15 Washington (-3.5) at UCLA
Oregon State at #12 Utah (-10.5)
California at Washington State (-4)
Colorado at Arizona (-18)
Arizona State at #6 USC (-26)
Stanford at #13 Oregon (-16.5)

It’s because your QB is Bo Nix and the kid doesn’t go down. He runs like crazy and then throws the ball away.

He didn’t take many sacks at Auburn either but our lines sucked.

The offensive line has done pretty well the last couple of games. Nix really hasn't had to escape much and Oregon's run the ball at a respectable clip. This is the best Oregon's line in recent memory (That's probably 2019) but it's a solid veteran group.

Thus far, it seems like most years where the conference is going to eat itself. I don’t think anyone can say the B1G is better. Ohio State is better than SC but outside of that is anyone going to put money down on that Michigan or Minnesota is better than any Pac 12 team?

i will put all my money on Minn being better than Colorado. I will bet all my assets they are like 49-7 better

The worst of the B1G is better than Colorado, probably Stanford, and probably ASU.

ASU just lost at home to EASTERN MICHIGAN.

To be fair, the NCAA investigation has destroyed them.

They lost several of their assistant coaches, they lost a bunch of talent to the portal (including their QB and a top LB), their head coach just got let go and there are rumors that his assistants were undermining him.

That's a lot for them to have to try to overcome.

Oh I agree, and that's why they are so far down on my list of power rankings.

I think they resources and desire is there, but they are such a cluster fuck at the moment they basically need to overhaul everything.

Yep and they were pretty close to breaking through (at least in the PAC). Funny thing is, from the little that has come out, it looks like at least part of what they did might be legal now. They just did it a season or 2 early.

I have a feeling though, that there's a lot more that hasn't come out yet. This seems like an awful lot of fallout for what appear to be relatively minor offenses.

Very true.

I was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago when I saw the Reggie Bush commercial and how he was happy to win a Burger Award that 'they couldn't take away from him'. Not only was I shocked that he agreed to the commercial, but I was thinking that from what I remember, 100% of what he got in trouble for is now completely legal and even encouraged.

Yes and no on Reggie.

Basically, with Reggie, it was his family being allowed to live in a nice house for free. Back then, it was set up by his stepfather and another guy who were looking to build a sports agency with Reggie as their first client. This was done with no input or assistance from USC.

Him/his family getting to live in a house for free and USC having no part of it would have been ok, but I believe it would have had to come from a company as part of an NIL deal and not from a couple of knuckleheads trying to start a sports agency.
