GAME Texas A&M (3-2) at #1 Alabama (5-0) | 8pm EDT on CBS

Bryce Young's Heisman stock should have risen after this game
Bama offense is completely reliant on Bryce Young. Milroe is not ready yet. I don’t think the OL is good enough to just line up and run it down people’s throat. The defense is good. Golding is going to blitz and leave his weakest position without help (CB). If you have a QB that can throw the deep ball, you can score on Bama. Tennessee is a really tough match-up for Bama next week

Ohio State looking like the best team in the country so far.

To be fair, they haven't played anyone with a pulse yet. The front of their schedule has been weak. Michigan State and Wisconsin looked like great matchups on paper but both have imploded. Ohio State has some tough ones coming up.

Yeah but they haven't really had any real scares yet. ND played them close but they've humiliated everyone else. They are also doing it not being at full strength. Glad they have the bye week coming to hopefully heal up some nagging injuries.

That being said, I don't necessarily believe they are the best team but they sure are fun to watch

Did Alabama play 2 running backs and a tight end at quarterback during the game? Asking for a friend.

They are leading the country in pts per drive differential. They have pretty much hammered everyone they played. Bama and Georgia maybe the best teams, but both have had games they easily could have lost vs non-top 20 teams. Hard to make an argument for either to be #1, that isn’t based solely on where you think they will end up. Plenty of time to build the resume, but as of right now I don’t think either is deserving of a #1 ranking

I have seen this story over and over again in College Football. Just this year, every one was singing praises about Oklahoma 3 weeks ago (including myself). Ohio State's schedule has been very favorable to date but they definitely have some top challengers. Michigan and Penn State are both legit.

I am going to reserve judgement for Ohio State once they start playing some of the tougher B1G teams on their schedule.

I am still putting Georgia #1 in my rankings.

Here is Ohio State's schedule to date. Notre Dame seems like the only team in that list that will make a bowl game.

Don't get me wrong, I think Ohio State is definitely a National Title Contender but they have a lot of football to play.

That thinking is part of the problem. People vote based on their personal opinions (projections) and not on what had happened on the field. I am guessing it is because of ego. They don’t want to be wrong from week to week. Polls should have wild swings the first month to 1.5 months of football, because information is changing fast. Georgia’s back to back weeks of mediocre football vs Kent State and Missouri should mean something. They have a plenty of opportunities to erase that, especially in November when the schedule ramps up.

Ohio State hasn't played a team that, in my opinion, will make a bowl game with maybe the exception of Notre Dame. Teams can look good against weaker opponents. Trust me, Ohio State is going to EARN their playoff spot soon.

To date, Georgia has played a lot tougher schedule than Ohio State. Even if you pulled out non-bias Computer Rankings, Ohio State is likely behind Alabama and Georgia.

I think you guys are definitely legit and I don't see Tennessee being able to beat Ohio State but I wanted to point out that Ohio State really hasn't played a higher caliber team yet with the exception of maybe the opener against Notre Dame.

You don't understand you old coon dog aggie. The B1G schedule is always murderer's row. Gordon Gee said so many years ago. Other conferences play sisters of the poor week in and week out. Not the B1G.

I am not an Ohio State fan. I can’t stand them. Funny part is OSU currently has a higher SOS, than Georgia.. Georgia has the lowest SOS between OSU, Bama, and Michigan

Fuck BOB tho. Dude did nothing to help Milroe out and called a horrendous game. Sark would have put up at least 38 last night

Who is BCF toys?

You are correct with ESPN but it is literally only by 1 point. Alabama is way ahead of the other two, however.

Still, I just don't think there has been a team with a major pulse other than maybe Notre Dame on Ohio State's schedule. Wisconsin fired their coach and Michigan State has been hammered by 3-4 teams so far this year including Minnesota and Washington.

I don't want to crown Ohio State a top team because they haven't had the strongest competition. I could make similar cases for Ole Miss or USC Trojans to be in top 3 since they have pretty much dominated their competition as well.

I think Georgia has really struggled the last 3 weeks but they are still the best team that I have seen on the field so far. I do have question marks about Alabama but I always give Alabama a benefit of the doubt with Saban at the helm. They are ALWAYS in the mix. Heck, I do the same thing with Ohio State as well sometimes, this is why you are in the top 3. (I will probably rank Ohio State #2).

That is FEI. BCF Toys doesn’t put that together. ESPN has them essentially the same. OSU has preformed much better, with similar schedules. I don’t understand “I don’t want to crown them” thinking. Who gives a fuck about crowning a week 5 or 6 #1 team? It only matters late November/Early December.

I would take Georgia's schedule over Ohio State's despite computer rankings. Let me break it down.

Oregon > Notre Dame
Wisconsin = Auburn - Both seem like crap shows
South Carolina > Michigan State
Missouri = Rutgers
Toledo > Kent State
Arkansas State > Samford

The big difference is Oregon. Oregon is a better team than anything Ohio State has played. I also think Auburn and South Carolina are slightly better than Michigan State and Wisconsin right now which is a surprising comment coming into the season.

As stated, Ohio State has Michigan and Penn State. Both are legit top ten teams right now IMO.

Doesn’t matter. The strength of schedules at a minimum are very close. You are missing the fact that Missouri, who is bad, had Georgia on the ropes. Kent State played with Georgia, until the 4Q. This is still a beauty contest, how play vs your schedule is important. You can not ignore that. I’d rather you just say “I don’t care, Georgia is better”, than go through some mental gymnastics to try and validate your opinion. Georgia has played some ugly games, if they are undefeated come Thanksgiving they will likely be #1

You're debating a massive SEC homer.

Outside of their opener with Notre Dame, Ohio St has won their last 5 like they should have.

I questioned the Buckeyes win over Notre Dame after the Irish lost to Marshall, but not now.
I chalk ND up to first game issues that they look to have fixed.

Looks like that back up QB should have been starting from the beginning as well.

"Ohio St's had a weak schedule because Wisconsin, Rutgers, and Michigan St, aren't very good"

They won those games by 31, 39, and 29 pts. LOL

Bama has an issue, and its not on the field. Yes, they are suspect when Bryce is not in the game, but that is true of almost every team in the country that relegates thier first team offense to a second string QB.
Our problem is in the OC box upstairs. He is(and has been known) to be poor at being able to make changes on the fly. Last night he had a running QB trying to play pocket passer. He is not Bryce and that game plan seemed more suited to Bryce than Milroe. Bryce is a cool under pressure kind of QB. Milroe gets happy feet when the pocket starts to break down, and then he is fight or flight mode.

I will say this, with Bryce in the game this coming weekend, it will still be a tall order to beat Tennessee at home. We need Bryce, our best, and a game plan by an OC that can utilize the tools at his disposal properly. In other words, Bama may be in for a long day.

Yeah my SEC homerism is really coming out when my main contention for why Georgia's schedule is tougher than Ohio State's schedule has to do with Oregon... especially since Oregon is in the SEC...

Georgia's win over Oregon is more impressive than anything Ohio State has done to date. Ohio State has literally only played one Power 5 team that may have a winning record at the end of season to date (Notre Dame). I am not even 100% sold they win the B1G East because Michigan and Penn State are both very good this year.

My point is that Ohio State has not played anyone yet that can matchup with them talent-wise at any position. Perhaps maybe Notre Dame in week 1... we will find out more about Ohio State later in the season. Alabama and Georgia have actually played some talented teams with a pulse that have got them into struggles.

In many ways, though, the team with the most impressive resume to date isn't even being discussed; that is Clemson.
