2024 NLCS Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Diego Padres

The Phillies going on this run with Wheeler and Syndergaard brings another element to the LOL @ the Mets deal. Being able to laugh at the Mets is the most important part of baseball for me

Wheeler's last two seasons in NY are better than I remembered (I think I was mixing him up with Matz, who has been merely serviceable). But he has taken a step from being a good mid-rotation guy to an ace.

Syndergaard has had a decent comeback year, but it seems like he's still trying to figure himself out after losing velocity. he's been throwing his four seamer less, especially with the Phils.

Wheeler was a very close second to Corbin Burnes for Cy Young last year. I’ll sound like a homer, but I think he got robbed a bit. Burnes only had him on ERA and ERA+, and barely at that. He’s been forming up into that ace for a little bit. Dude has the stuff.

Sydergaard…..I guess I’ve been thinking a Tommy John can be like an ACL in football. You can come back the next year, but it’s can take another year to really get back. Im not delusioned to think he can get all his velocity back, but maybe enough that with some development or another pitch or two can make him a serviceable back end rotation guy for another few years.

Syndergaard will have to learn how to pitch another way to be a viable long term rotation option. Now he could go the John Smoltz route and be a closer for a few years

Bets for tonight:

Over 5.5 strikeouts for Nola
Under 6.5 strikeouts for Snell
Under 6.5 runs in the game

Still pondering my bets on the Astros-Yankees game

Astros are my AL team though
You would root for a bunch of cheaters.

Rooting for the Astros by default because fuck the Yankees.

Edit:

they are cheaters, so makes sense
If you ain’t cheatin, you ain’t winnin.

Astros still WS contenders. Mike Fiers is pitching in Mexico. Who came out on top of that deal?

NASCAR was my first sports love. Cheaters are admired and seen as innovators in that circle

Also, have we decided... Does Joe Girardi get a ring if the Phils win it all?
Ice Cube Wtf GIF

Best thing he did to help the team was to get fired, so I guess that's worth a ring
