Fuck it, do it. Nebby’s already at rock bottom anyway, nothing to lose.
I thought about this and potentially you have these Pros:Lane is in a semi cush position at Ole Miss. Why go to a trainwreck?
I thought about this and potentially you have these Pros:
- Easier division to win by a long shot
- More money (assuming Ole Miss doesn't outbid as I am sure they will counter)
- More NIL (Ole Miss has been dragging its feet in this area)
Cons:
- Right now Lane is the BRAND at Ole Miss and I'm not sure Nebraska will allow him to take center stage and own the show
- Lane hates bumping elbows with boosters so not sure how that will fly in Lincoln
- Basically at Ole Miss everyone is hands off and Lane runs it how he wants and no one complains
I guess it would come down to money, does he want to live in Lincoln and how much freedom would he have? He does have a better shot at the playoff at Nebraska than in the SEC West.

I would say getting out of the SEC West and having an actual shot at a division and conference title would be number 1.You are basically starting over at Nebraska, that program is a mess, their expectations are super unrealistic there too. Could be out in a couple of years without instant gratification.
Money IMO is probably possibly the only plus if they want to throw the bank at him.

It's never a given that you are going to beat Lane when you play him. Plus just winning the West should get him in the playoff so yes I think it does.Does maybe at some point winning the B1G West to only get mangled by the East winner in the title game really carry that much appeal?

If Nebraska starts winning 10 games and the B1G West, recruits may start wanting to come which means that they could get more competitive in B1G Title game and eventually have a team that can win it and make playoffs.
I think some people are way overestimating what Nebraska can be in 2022 going on
Their best case IMO is finding someone who can consistently win around 8 games a year, with a chance to get 10 wins every 4 or 5 years with teams full of 4th/5th year guys who have developed solidly.
