Both teams have dominated their way through the playoffs

Should be a good one, but just note the last three times a Philadelphia team has won the WS, a financial crisis followed, so all of America should be pulling for the Astros here

1929 Philadelphia A’s win it all, Great Depression
1980 Philadelphia Phillies win it all, big recession
2008 Philadelphia Phillies win it all, Great Recession
 
Just remember that every time the Houston Astros team has won the World Series, a major cheating scandal that rocked MLB followed. So all baseball fans that value integrity should be pulling for the Phillies.

The cheating is what makes the Astros so appealing. The Junior Johnson of baseball
 
4th World Series appearance in 6 years. They were a win away from returning in 2020. Even when we took 4 of 5 from them in 2018, that was a nerve wracking series that could have easily been a 3-2 Houston advantage.

Not a lot of holdovers left from that 2017 team either. Gurriel/Altuve/Bregman/Verlander/McCullers are all I can think of. Verlander missed all of 2021 and only made one start in 2020. The Astros drafting/player development is on another level, perhaps even better than the Dodgers.

We going to cheat again this year too...

Yankees said we cheated when we opened the roof at our stadium... It gave our flyballs an unfair advantage...

So I guess that's cheating now..

1980 and 2008 recessions were in full swing before the Phillies won. If you don't want the Phillies to win, build a better economy.

Also, the two teams in the DS/LCS era to have advanced to the World Series with sweeps in both rounds lost the WS. Astros looking to buck that trend ('07 Rockies got swept, '14 Royals lost in 7).

Plus the NL East kinda owns the Astros. I’m pulling for Houston, but I’d be shocked if the Phillies didn’t win
 
I dislike the Phillies and I really dislike Verlander and the Astros, so I've been kind of torn on who I'm rooting for. I was thinking about just pretending that the World Series was canceled this year.

But I like Bryce Harper.

So I'm pulling for Bryce Harper to win the World Series and to buttfuck Verlander.
