Three UVA players killed; ex-player in custody

Police have an ex-Virginia football player in custody after a shooting Sunday night that left three football players dead and two students wounded.

A few of the highlights:
Sounds like it started last nite as players were returning from an off campus trip, there was a shelter in place order for UVA this morning.

so they had been told the shooter had a gun but did nothing about it or didn't investigate...

Lots of red flags here.

Guy was charged with a gun possession misdemeanor but they were slow walking it thru a campus judiciary council, whatever the f that is.

Someone reported he has a gun but his roommate didn't see nuffin.

He was involved in a hazing incident but witnesses also didn't see nuffin.

Now 3 are dead.

Just ridiculous and awful.
 
I've been around guns all my life and I hate the way gun laws are used to disarm us. But in all the time I was at OU I NEVER saw one gun and if I had seen one on campus I would have been very damn concerned. Guns have no business being on a college campus. I saw some crazy shit in college but I never worried about getting shot. These students now live in a different world from when I was their age. :tsk:
 
Sad and senseless, I hurt for the families involved.

Campus judiciary council? Bullshit, campus councils or what-the-fuck-ever don't count. Gun possession should have been handled by the authorities not Dean Wormer
 
No one is covering this story. Seems like a pretty big one IMO. Apparently the media is burying it

The university later learned that Jones had been charged with misdemeanor concealed weapons charges outside Charlottesville in February 2021. He was required to report the criminal charges to the university but failed to do so. Longo said the university had taken administrative charges through the judiciary council against Jones and the case was still pending.
