CFP Rankings Nov. 15

I Don't think success 15-20 years ago should be carrying "benefit of the doubt" in current times.

LSU has a more recent National Title than Ohio State.

Georgia won its first title last year in a rematch since 1980 yet @NewPhoneWhoDis acts like they are on the same page as Saban's Alabama team.

It also wasn't like Florida has been irrelevant. People forget that they won the SEC East and 11 games just 3 years ago.

Since Meyer left Florida has lost 4+ games in 8/12 seasons

LSU has been good but not elite outside of 2019 and maybe this year since they lost the 2011 BCS title.

Auburn has been meh since that 2013 BCS title game appearance, theyve lost at least 4 games in every year since then.

They won as many titles Pre-Urban as now. You keep raving about Ohio State but they have done less, from a Championship aspect, than Florida or LSU since 2000.

BTW, I think Florida, LSU, and Auburn have the right to flash SEC Logo as Florida has two National Titles 2006 and 2008 and played in various NY6 bowls, LSU has three national titles 2003, 2007, and 2019 and has played in several big-time bowl games; Auburn has an undefeated season in 2004 that would have saw them in a 4-team playoff, National Title in 2010, and National Title game appearance in 2013.

You tout Georgia a lot but they still haven't accomplished as much as any of those three programs since 2000. It shows that you haven't watched football other than last 2-3 seasons. You can't say Georgia is some elite SEC power and not include those 3.
Why in god's name are you talking about 20+ years ago, as if that has ANYTHING to do with today? No one cares about 2000. No one cares Florida was good with Urban Meyer. Congrats to Auburn for winning a title with Cam Newton. Same congrats to FSU for winning one with Jameis Winston. Same congrats to LSU for winning a title with Joe Burrow.

In today's game -- you either recruit like the elite programs or you hit the lottery at QB -- that's how you will win a national title. It is why I said -- This is the year Tennessee has a chance, because next year, they are going to have to start over as they lose Hooker, Hyatt and Tillman. Hooker and Hyatt will not be easily replaced.

I tout Georgia because they are reaching levels in recruiting that only a select few teams reach, like Bama. I also tout Georgia because they have the single greatest advantage in college football being the only major D1 school in a state with a never ending supply of blue chip recruits each year and they have finally found a coach who can put it together.

Here is much more recent history for the teams you mentioned -- the last 10 years:
LSU has lost 36 games
OSU has lost 12 games
Bama has lost 14 games
Georgia has lost 26 games, but 16 of those 26 were in 2013-2016.
Florida has lost 48 games
Tennessee has lost 55 games
Auburn has lost 49 games

So you want me to call Florida elite while they are averaging almost 5 losses a year for the last decade? Or Auburn averaging almost 5 losses a year in the last decade? Even LSU has averaged 3.6 losses per year for the last decade, is that elite?

I said Georgia is the one team who COULD go on Alabama type run, because they are the one team in the SEC who can recruit on par with Alabama, because of the massive number of blue chips recruits in state. For 10 plus years, no team in college football could match the number of 5 star recruits that Bama had on their roster. Last year, it was Georgia who had the most 5 star recruits.

And the other thing this year that proves they are on their way to being just like Bama -- they set the NFL record for most defensive players selected in the 1st round in the NFL draft this past year and really it could have been even higher that Nakobe Dean wasn't one of them. Yet they have zero drop off from their defense this year.

Is Georgia on the level of the Bama dynasty? Of course not. It'd take them playing at this level for another decade and winning a bunch of NC's. All I said is they COULD.

Yea LSU Florida and Auburn are a bit over romanticized quite a bit on their "elite" level.

LSU is definitely the more solid of the 3 over the last 10 years, but Florida and Auburn have generally been average (or worse) teams outside of maybe a year or two.

LSU is second in National Titles this century.

You hate them because they have less wins and losses but guess what, Michigan and Ohio State would be in a similar boat in their position.

I just find it funny you guys talking smack about those programs when they have beaten you for National Titles.

Un Huh. The old "They cant sustain success because SEC!" excuse

Are we really going to claim that Ohio State would have 4+ losses 5 times in the last 10 years, like LSU. If they played in the SEC?

Nope it is they can't win the big one excuse. If you guys were that good, you would have at least 3-4 National Titles right now. It is the same crap about Ohio State nearly every year, it is they are so "dominant" and then they go lose in the post season. It is worse than OD with Oregon.

LSU is so "dominant" they can only manage not to lose 4+ games 50% of the time.

It's easier to lose post season ones when you are playing in bigger post season games most of the time.

LSU is more likely to be playing in a fucking Citrus or Texas Bowl type game in most seasons than a NY6 game or the CFP.

Well, we know they can't beat South Carolina...

:dhd:

They have more National Titles than Ohio State, period. If it wasn't for Alabama and Saban, LSU may have 5 or 6 National Titles.

Yes 2 of Ohio State's worst teams of the last 30 years couldn't beat South Carolina. We know, their fans still brag about it. :pound:
Not much else to brag about now, is there? :noidea:

But seriously, "worst teams of the last 30 years?" That's a bit disingenuous. Those were bowl games, it's not like you were 1-10. And you won the Natty the next year, so you weren't talentless.

It's okay, we're gonna beat Tennessee this weekend, and clear out a path for you to lose to UM and still go playoffs

It was John Coopers last team and Jim Tressels first team, they were not good.

2008 is NOT that long ago lol. Florida played Alabama a lot closer than Ohio State did when these teams matched up.

I cannot believe you guys throw stones at schools that beat you and won titles.

Yes Florida winning games 15+ years ago sure means a lot when we are talking about now.

That doesn't make Florida any better this year or most of the last decade.
