If you were on the playoff committee, what four teams would you vote for?

OSU Michigan.

It was a one score game with 7 minutes left. 31 23.

OSU still managed 500 yards of offense. They just didn't punch it in. Credit to Michigan for that.
I endorse your sentiment but not your math skills.

31 23 is one score. 2 pt conversion.
Sorry, I missed the one score. the 7 was the time, not the difference.

You are right and I am stupid.

BTW, the CFP dude said pretty much the same thing last week. They know the score doesn't necessarily reflect the way the game went.

Yea...you can tell fans that checked in on the score and didn't watch the game. Again I will state OSU had their 5th string RB run for 6 yards a carry against a good Michigan D. I understand Michigan was also missing Corum though.

OSU missed several opportunities in the first half and Michigan capitalized with big plays.

Not making excuses as to the end result...the team that played and coached best definitely won. But 500 yards of offense doesn't indicate a beatdown. Two late scores made it look that way.

Gary Danielson: “I think Alabama is one of the four best teams and should get in over 1 loss TCU.”

The rest of the world: ….

This is my biggest gripe w the whole thing. Every year we get that “…but are they one of the four best teams in college football?” argument. This is why W’s and L’s should matter, why conference titles should matter and the results of the games should matter not who people “think” are the best 4 teams. Doesn’t matter what people think.

It’s a broken system.

Don't want to say you got beat down? Don't lose by 20+. The entire second half was a beat down. Ohio State freaked out in their own heads about losing to Michigan again and played scared the whole time.

Michigan played like a team that wanted to win the game. Ohio State played like a team trying their best not to lose (with a few exceptions).

It was as much a mental beatdown too

It won't matter nearly as much in a couple years when the 12 team officially takes off. You will still have debate on the At large teams and maybe some seeding but it shouldn't be as big of a deal. Everyone that has even the slightest chance of winning it all, should be included in 12 teams

I don't take issue so much with your take in a vacuum. I take issue with someone saying Bama should make the CFP with 2 losses having not played the best team in their conference and using one result from ohio state to justify it.

I'd leave the top three just like they were even though TCU lost. Now the 4th spot is a difficult decision and we'll see what the committee values...this time. (Their "value" seems to fluctuate to whatever they want.) Do they like "record"? Then it is Ohio State. Do they prefer less "record" and prefer two close losses? Then it is Alabama. Do they prefer a team that had to play again instead of sitting on their asses and chasing pussy yesterday? Then it is Clemson.

Who'd have the best chance to beat Georgia? Alabama IMO.

Why? I mean, tbh, I don't think either Bama or Ohio State are beating Georgia but why would you think Bama has the best shot?

Bama lost to the two best teams they faced and both of those teams got beat up by Georgia

That's not how teams should be ranked. As it is wildly subjective.

Regardless given LSU got beat by 20 and now have 4 losses there were no results yesterday that would have helped Alabama. OSU got a small boost with Toledo winning and Michigan holding serve.

Ohio State and TCU are still ahead in the Massey composite (OSU is 3rd) so there is zero reason for Bama to jump OSU. It would be a travesty. If the committee felt like Bama should've been ahead they should've done it last week

Yeah. The deal to me is this: Alabama and Ohio State were sitting around while the CCG were being played. Buckeyes are 5th right now. Bama is 6th. So, in some way in the CFP, Bama jumps Ohio State… how? They both didn’t take the field this past weekend. They both have the same number of wins and losses they did after last week’s games finished. What Michigan did on the field yesterday change the Buckeyes ranking? What LSU did in the field yesterday change Alabama’s ranking?

Correct ... that game was a lot closer than many will admit. The final score produces a false narrative,
