If you were on the playoff committee, what four teams would you vote for?

UGA
UTAH
MICH
TCU

I don’t understand #1. You should be ranked on how you have performed, not a future forecast of how you will perform because your star player is hurt.

Now # 2 on the other hand …
It if an express part of the CFP that they can consider the loss or gain of a player. Hooker is as good an example as you could find.

Doesn’t mean it makes sense.

I guess we didn't learn from Cincinnati last year? TCU is going to get destroyed. Doesn't belong.

TCU went 12-1 with a 3 point loss to Kansas State in OT in Big 12 Championship game. Who else should have been in ?
Oregon.

They just called Georgia the reigning national champs.

Thoughts @OlyDuck ?
cool story
let me know when they hand it over to someone and no longer have the 21-22 championship

The committee has stated time and again that 1 loss and no conference title > 2 loss and a conference title. Even if there is a head to head win for the two loss team over then one loss team. Why are all of you dullards surprised?

Losses don’t count for Bama is what I get from this thread
Truly hilarious that there are people that call themselves college football fans but also think Bama should be in the playoff over OSU or TCU.

Come on man. Didn't you see the tweet and the Saban lobbying? That has to count for something.
It's sad, tbh. You're Alabama, the top CFB program of the century. Stop begging to be included when you didn't come close to earning it, you should be above that.

Didn't come close? I'd say it was as close as possible.

I think the Committee got it right for the teams they picked. I was bracing myself for them bouncing TCU in favor of Bama but im glad that didn't come to fruition.
Only small qualm i have is Ohio St at 4. Any time there's 2 teams from the same conf in the final 4, i'd rather see them play in the semis to avoid a all-conf NCG.

Granted it's not a great possibility this season, but I'd rather it be impossible.

People like to complain about two conference mates meeting in the NCG, but it’s up to the teams they’re playing to prevent it from happening. Clemson and Oklahoma had the chance to prevent a UGA-Bama NCG in 2017, but didn’t. Michigan and Cincinnati had the chance to prevent it last year but didn’t

Can’t really defend 2011 since Alabama had no business being in over Oklahoma State and there was no first round

But if the two best teams are from the same conference and they can prove it in the playoffs, that’s the matchup I want to see

But I do agree that OSU should have been the 3 seed this year since then at 4 gives the 1 seed a tougher opponent than the 2 seed, but as if you’re in, it’s a take on all comers mentality or you lost before the game even kicked off

They were 10-2, didn't play for their conference title, and didn't even beat a top 20 team. Their best win was by 1 against Texas without their starting QB - who was shredding Bama before he got hurt. Give any team not named Alabama that resume and the thought of them making the playoff would never even occur.

Well yes, obviously. I'd just rather the committee set up the bracket to eliminate that possibility.
That said, if we had The Game and it was the NCG...well that's the ultimate bragging rights game for any rivalry. Would be insane.

Alabama didn’t deserve the 5 spot or the Sugar Bowl over Tennessee
