2022 Official Transfer Portal Thread

That's going to happen when you have kids that want to play but are behind better players. You don't have the top class without kids who were expecting it to be their turn jumping ship. Just need to hang on to the true freshman who got their growing pains this year.
Or, they come to the realization that their NFL dream is dead and want to go someplace they can get a real education.

Ok. Maybe don't try to draw an AAU school offsides with that bait :suds:

It wasn't aimed at you guys. I really wonder how many players go to name schools to get exposure but realize they aren't good enough and then go to a more academic school.

There are lots of reasons to transfer.

Does DJ go to another P5 like Wisconsin, ND, or UCLA, or does he go G5 where he can dominate for sure and elevate his draft stock?

Not official yet, but Wisconsin RB Braelon Allen expected to enter the portal

There was a QB at UGA named Faton Bauta that was supposed to be a poor man’s Tim Tebow. Richt let him start one game against Florida and left him out there to die, that was the final nail in Richt’s coffin at UGA and Bauta transferred to Colorado State to be with Mike Bobo and split time with another QB there IIRC. DJU looks a lot like Faton Bauta to me.

Clemson has a really good roster, but it was pissed away with a terrible QB.

How does a team put up 30 points despite their QB going 8-29 passing the ball against SCar? They lost that game 31-30 with a QB playing like that, and likely are in the playoffs if they win that game

Can't feel bad for them not making the playoff though. Can't go 2-2 OOC with a blowout loss to ND and expect to be deserving of a spot.

No they absolutely don’t belong anywhere near the playoffs, but they’re for sure winning one of those games they lost with even mediocre QB play. This year has been Dabo’s worst coaching job IMO

Strongly agree about Dabo. This was pathetic. Thankfully enough for Clemson, the ACC was the worst P5 conference this year all-around. I feel like there are 9-10+ teams that could've gone 12-1 at least with that schedule.

my gut feeling is it had to do with Cade losing the starting job and transferring. Losing All sucks especially with Schoonmaker going to the Senior Bowl, but at least we have Loveland.

He got so much credit for inserting Lawrence and letting Hunter Johnson go. I said at the time, there was no issue with that ... Lawrence was an obvious stud and with the ACC schedule that was an easy call. He blew this one.

I said for years about Clemson:

- Luck on injuries
- Kept the coordinators forever
- Luck with generational QBs
- Play in the ACC
- Hitting way higher than average on evals on lower ranked players

All that has reversed this year. Will be interesting to see what Dabo does.
