Stetson Fucking Bennett is heading to NYC ...

Well, Trippi was primarily a RB not a QB. So I would take him out. Other than than that I agree. Damn, so close to your second ever post where you are right.
It was a different game back then, but Trippi did handle most of the passing duties.

I don't like Georgia but out of all of the Finalists, Stetson was the only one that did it in crunch time.

I don't think Hendon should have won it but surprising Hendon Hooker wasn't invited.

CJ Stroud is so overrated. He racked up numbers against weak competition and folded when he finally played someone good.

Stetson is way better than David Greene ever was. Aaron Murray was a better QB IMO, Stetson is more accomplished and has a better supporting class around him IMO

If I were to rank the top 5 UGA QBs of all time, I’d go something like:

1. Stetson Bennett
2. Charley Trippi
3. Buck Belue
4. Aaron Murray
5. Matt Stafford
Eric Zeier or GTFO

Fran Tarkenton and Eric Zeier were okay too.

I'm rooting for Duggan or Bennett.

Meanwhile, I look for Bryce Young to pick up some kind of QB Award.

First UGA game I remember watching, Hines Ward played QB and set a bunch of UGA bowl game records

Early 90's. I remember that too. That was an impressive display

UGA had Ward and Andre Hastings

btw you are young AF

I was at the game when Eric Zeier set the all-time SEC passing record @ Alabama in 1994. One of the best games I have ever attended. What a game with two fantastic QBs! Well, Barker was full of the Holy Spirit that night at least.

While I'm not a big fan of Stroud, as he looks like he is always about to start crying at any moment -- He is the last reason Ohio State has lost to UM the last two years. He threw for 400 yards last year vs Michigan, he threw for 350 yards this year.

He faced 6 ranked teams last year. He threw for 484 against Oregon. He threw for 305 against PSU. He threw for 361 against Purdue. He threw for 432 against MSU. He threw for 573 against Utah.

Who are these big time defenses he needed to throw against to not be overrated? Your comment would make more sense if you said -- his WR's making him look better than he is, as NO ONE has had a better WR room than Stroud the last two years. Olave -- 1st round pick. Garrett Wilson -- 1st round pick. Ngjiba-Smith -- will be a 1st round pick. Harrison Jr. -- could be the #1 pick, if the team already has a QB. Egbuka -- will be a 1st round pick. THAT is absurd to have that talent to throw to.

Go watch Hendon Hooker in the last minute of the game against Alabama and tell me that isn't a Heisman moment. CJ Stroud didn't look good against Maryland, Michigan, Northwestern, etc.

I am not sure where you are getting stats but he looked bad in all of those games. If Penn State had a decent offense, that game may have been different as well.

It isn't like it is tough to pull up the game logs on players. You can see what they do in every game. You will get to see first hand how Hendon Hooker and CJ Stroud would compare this year. Ohio State faces that same Georgia defense in Georgia that Hooker faced. Hooker threw for 195 with 0 tds and 1 int. Obviously an overrated Stroud won't surpass those numbers. :hide:

Hooker wins if he doesn't get hurt. Probably should have been in NYC. But, there is a history of (1) injured players being eliminated (think the Oregon QB a decade ago), and (2) late season heroics winning the trophy - Bryce last year. It helped that all the other guys shit the bed in their last games, while Stetson excelled. Hooker's last game was a blowout loss, even if not his fault. And the UGA game was just 2 weeks earlier. So much is perception as the season ended.
