Tell me about them.

They have very realistic fans, they have more money than anyone else, they recruit in the best state in the country, they have unbelievable power in their own conference and they are a blue blood.

Unfortunately they have sucked for the last decade and gone through coaches like they change clothes. Oh and Oklahoma pretty much owns them at this point.

Greatest University in the land.. who cares about football when Volleyball, Swimming and baseball season are coming up??

The football program is about the same as Nebraska’s right now, only difference is Texas has hope

I have it on good authority Herman is building a burnt orange beast. Im just assuming he is taking his time.

If Clemson can become what they have become under Dabo Swimmer, i think about any program has a chance. Where was Clemson 10 years ago?

Dabo was there a long time before it was a powerhouse. He likely would have been fired from a team like Texas before he hit his stride. Sometimes, patience is golden, but that’s not the case with Herman. The team is regressing if anything

jesus man you are going into extreme circumstances.. Look where Clemson is located.. You telling me those same kids would flock to Lincoln because it's Nebraska? Or because Dabo is there? Talent isn't going to arrive there like the 80's and 90's.. Their best hope is to do what WI, IA and what MN has done recently.. Have a 9/10 win season and a shot to knock off tosu/psu in the CCG... every few seasons.

Nebraska already gets on Frost, the prodigal son.. They would have definitely have given up on Dabo after his first 4 seasons.

He won the ACC is 3rd season. National Title in season 5. He only had 1 losing season (year 2) at 6-7 and won 10 or more games starting in year 3 on.

He wasn't there that long unless you count his coordinator days. He also wasn't endangered of being fired.

Alabama was same way struggling as a has-been until they grabbed Saban. In most instances, a program is just a coach and perhaps a star player or 2 away from being a playoff contender.

He went 6-7 his third season then entered the "clemsoning" period.. How did he win the ACC??

That was year 2. His first FULL year was 2009 and they went 9-5. He went 6-7 in 2010 and then won the ACC in 2011. He coached only half a season in 2008nas interim coach.

you must mean his 4th season where he lost to GA Tech, NC State and South Carolina?

In 2011, he went 10-4 in his 3rd FULL season and won the ACC. He won the division in 2009 his first full season.

2008 doesn't count. He was 4-3 as he took over as interim coach.

again.. most blue blood schools would have gotten rid of him, especially in the SEC/BIG conferences. Saying that can happen in Nebraska is a long shot.. hell saying that happens in Austin is a long shot.

No one would have gotten rid of him:

First season, win your division
Third season, win your conference

He would have been on the hot seat after 2nd season but not fired. The only 2 programs that may have canned him with that record are Oklahoma and Ohio State because they constantly win their leagues, it is disappointing if they don’t. However, even they would likely have kept Dabo.
