Kirby put a hit out on Marvin Harrison Jr?? Despicable

That Kirby Smart would do this is heinous. I am with Randy from Ohia on this. Paul is wrong this time.

Not a huge fan of Pauuuuul, but he's not quite the Bammer homer he used to be. He's right on this one ... we locked down Harrison after the 1st quarter.

The before and after of Stroud's night with Harrison out is staggering. He was 4/8 for 29 yards after he got cheap shotted. With Harrison in the game he was 19/26 for 319 yards and 4 TDs. We already had one elite WR out, but you had to have the other one out to be able to win the game I suppose.

locked down after the 1st qtr?? You know he also scored in the 2nd qtr too right?
Ok, I was rounding. To be totally accurate:

Harrison had:
a 24 yard pass to start the 2nd Q.
a 16 yard TD pass at 11:04 of the 2nd Q.

He was knocked out at 0:35 of the 3rd Q.

So, he played the first Q and had his last catch 3:56 into the 2nd Q - that's a total of 18:56 minutes.

He then went 26 minutes where he didn't catch a pass.

The point being is that it's not like he wasn't lighting us up - for almost 2 complete Qs he didn't have a completion before he was injured.

Now, you can fairly argue having him on the field is still very valuable as we probably had to dedicate a safety to backup the CB, and that meant other WRs were open. I get that. Our O bogged down when Darnell Washington went down ... he is a key cog to our O it it took some time to adjust for it ... so I know that one player going out can affect other things you are trying to do.

See my post above. Clearly, we locked him down for 26 minutes before he went out with that totally legal and legit hit. I stated above that this meant we could adjust on other WRs. I know it affected your offense. Same when Washington went out.

Let's not ignore we also dialed up the pressure in the 4th quarter and that had something to do with it too. Stroud was already trending down in the 3rd Q before Harrison was hurt. He was 4 for 7 in the 3rd quarter, 4 for 8 in the 4th. What happened in the 3rd quarter if you want to say that almost the same numbers in the 4th were because of the Harrison totally legit hit?

LOL suddenly Paul isn't so bad, huh?
He used to be way more of a tool before he went national. If you heard him when he was regional he was 100% troll. He's tried to get legitimate at some level.

I mean you think he is wrong with his take here? You actually think CKS told our player to go out and hurt Harrison?

You guys had 4 sacks, 1 of which came in the 4th. You might have thought it seemed that way because because our top receiver was out which made it more difficult for Stroud. And no, Washington going out wasn't even in the same stratosphere in terms of impact as when Harrison went out. It was more on par with when Stover went out for OSU.

Regarding the hit -

I see head down leading the way with a clear launch towards the head/neck area of a defenseless receiver. Pretty hard to say this wasn't the turning point in the game for UGA and likely was the catalyst for the win.

3rd Q - 4/7
Harrison goes out
4th Q - 4/8

What happened in the 3rd Q? Perhaps we made halftime adjustments? So Stroud's numbers drop in the 3rd Q and are almost the same as the 4th quarter, and Harrison played almost the entire 3rd quarter. What did we do to slow him down in the 3rd that we didn't in the 4th.

Again, I am not minimizing him going out (although you are Washington going out which means you don't realize how key he was for our O schematically). It obviously made a difference, like all injuries do. Hell, if you want to get into injury excuses we lost our WR1 and RT1 in the SEC Championship game, while you guys got a bye week. So let's not get into injuries ... we both were banged up.

Your photos don't show anything illegal. It was a legal shoulder to shoulder hit. Harrison even went on the record saying the hit was not to his head. No launching, no crown of the helmet.

Here is a slowed down version of it:

I genuinely don't understand who watches, and/or participates in, these sports talk shows.
People who are doing bits. One year our office fantasy football season loser had to call in to Paul and explain why Miss St was going to win the SEC. The guy half-assed it and didn't get on the air.

Yep, he's SEC all the way ... he doesn't deny that. He's on the SEC Channel when not on his radio show.

Cause he is not in BHam anymore. Dude is a multi millionaire just because he answered a phone everyday and let Bama/Auburn fans argue on radio. Hell we do that everyday anyways.
