Anyone know the answer?

I never got to watch the series but I saw the final scene. But I never focused on what they were eating.
I like her... she's funny. Seems down to earth. Gritty.

She needs the wig, though... She ain't pretty with it... but it's a lot better than without...

So you non-yelling, keep your cool parents...HOW. IN. THEE. HOLY. FUCK. DO YOU. DO IT??
Did you get any serious replies? Because I also would like to know how it's done without yelling

Ya, we do that with both already. Sometimes that shit is empty af on my part tho, as my current situation sometimes needs that "babysitter", for lack of better words. I work from home....with the kids. It is hard. My job is not easy, mentally. Interruptions are death knells. I try to do most at nite, but we are busy af right now.

The threat works in shutting them the fuck up tho, for petty shit, like them arguing er whatever, at least for a minute or two.

I'll quit bitching. I'm just stress balls right meow.

I feel far too few kids grow up understanding money. I've stressed the importance of understanding it, to the point that if I can't do my job because of them, we may not eat.... or at least have nice things, like new clothes and whatnot.

Therefore, they've become partners, and have become accountable.

They'll get there. My daughter somewhat gets it, but doesn't really have a concept of valuation. She thinks everything costs $100, LOL. Like Disneyland trips en sech. She knows that our business takes precedence tho, or we can't do DL, etc. My wife has to go to the office everyday, and often on weekends of late cuz we've been so buried, so she's gotten that talk multiple times, as to why Mom has to work on Saturdays.

My son has ZERO concept of money or value. Everything is eleventy bazillion dollars to him.

your kid sounds retarded... like your dog

:heh:

j/k man. Like I said. You seem to be doing things right.

As I've always said, my kids have never been short on need. But if it's something they want, and it's outside of what they could expect as a Christmas or birthday gift, they needed to put up their own money or earn it.

They've become such misers, it ain't even funny... it took my 12 year old 3 months to eventually buy her airpods... and even still, prying the $200 from her was one of the most difficult things. Her reluctance ALMOST had me pay for it, just to get it over with.

My kids both get it. When it's something they have to spend their own money for, they will save like Scrooge.

We lived tight for their first 10-12 years, so they also understand about tradeoffs and priorities. But lately we've been on much better footing financially, so we're able to treat them more, and they appreciate it more. We've probably eaten out more during covid than we did in the previous 4-5 years.

Ugh, a 10000 square foot house must be a bitch to inspect!
I'm spent as hell, too, but at least I went goofy during the afternoon classes, as opposed to grumpy.
Neither is entirely appropriate, but I'd rather be goofier than usual than grumpier than usual.

lulz...

My girls were WAY too young to really understand the lean years of my business. Couple that, with the fact that I've earned/won trips as rewards/awards, and they've been pretty spoiled. How many families take a trip to DisneyWorld while their home is in forclosure? I wouldn't change a thing, though. The rush/thrill, was in the gamble.

Due to COVID, my spending is WAY down... and I've given them MORE earning opportunities....(but only for lack of anything else to do). I must be an asshole. lol.

My kids have never gone without either. My wife tends to spoil them, and I have to reel her back in all the time. My son is a miser thought. Just naturally, has always been a saver. I remember when he was like 12 or 13, he wanted a new Xbox, and I dont \remember the version, but it was about 300 bucks.

I told him he might to wait until christmas, or birthday, and he said he had enough money. So I told him to show me. That little fucker had saved his birthday, and christmas money, for probably 2 or 3 years. Had over 300 bucks in a fucking piggy bank. He is still at home, and working, and going to school, and has basically no bills. So I asked him how much he has saved. "I have a down payment for a house, when I get into the fire dept." So he showed me his bank statement, and he has over15k in his account.

When I was was his age there is no way I would have stacked that that much money, but I liked to party too much. He doesnt have those issues.

Well good for him. Money saving is a valuable skill, which is difficult for many people to get why, or worse they know why but still won't do it because they love spending too much.

Seriously, that's awesome! Kudos to both you and wifey, and kid.

It's a very hard thing to do. Humans are not savers by nature.... going all the way back through evolution to the times of hunting and gathering. Couple that with the understanding that "tomorrow is never promised..." and we need that instant satisfaction.
