FSU Leaving the ACC?

I've been waiting on this for several years.

"Based on a market valuation that he had commissioned, Alford told board members on Friday that FSU contributes roughly 15% of the value in the ACC's media rights deal but the school only gets 7% of the distributions as one of 14 full members of the conference."

How out of balance do you think others are?

:pop2: :martini:

But seriously- can't say I blame them.

Question - where they gonna go?

Perhaps they are just putting pressure to get a new TV deal? This one seems odd because I thought they were mostly locked in.

Bobby Bowden is rolling over in his grave. He openly stated how easy the ACC was.

I'm sure they want to but they signed that GOR that doesn't expire anytime soon. I'm sure their lawyers are trying to find a way out of it but I'm not convinced they can.

TBH, FSU is very important to the ACC.. Would FSU add value if they were to switch to the SEC.. and if so how much more are they worth? I think the guy said this in order to force the ACC to do something.. I have a feeling unequal revenue sharing is back on the menu as a short term solution for a real problem down the road.

I read that since Covid.. FSU and Clemson are the top 2 schools with viewership in the ACC

BTW I can't buy the number they say would take for them to leave (120 mil) I think that's just the exit penalty.. I think the number is much higher when it comes to getting it's rights back to go elsewhere. UT and ou paid 50 mil a piece to get out one year early.. how much would it cost to get out 12 years early?
