CFB Report's Top 25 over last 6 years.

I have no argument if you extend the time frame. But if we do, Alabama is #1 over the last 15 years.

I agree with that in regards to Bama. I do think LSU has a case over OSU. When comparing accomplishments it's very close:

Nattys:
LSU - 1
OSU - 0

CFP wins:
LSU - 2
OSU - 1

NY6 wins:
LSU - 2
OSU - 3

CCG wins:
LSU - 1
OSU - 3

CCG appearances:
LSU - 2
OSU - 3

Best overall team: Advantage LSU.
Overall record: Advantage OSU.

Also, LSU has has to deal with the two other programs who are 1&2 on this list.

Yeah, I get that. My Wisconsin fandom started back in the 60s. We were consistently bad to meh until the early 90s. I prefer the modern consistency.
I am with you. I have obviously enjoyed CFB under Smart, but I had a great time under Richt, just not quite as fun. One of our favorite bowl trips was to the Belk Bowl when we killed Louisville and Chubb ran all over them.

This seems the perfect place for this video:

Genuinely curious(because Wisconsin has a top 10 winning % the last 30 years). You would take that over say a program like LSU, USC, Texas or Clemson?

Yep. Mainly because my fandom is focused on GameDay. I feel better after games at a much higher %. But, then it is done. Personally, I don't really care much about last season, last 5 years or the last 30 years. It's all history and memories. My fandom is focused on the next game. For instance, UW'S next game is Buffalo. I don't remember who we played in our last bowl game.

Clemson not being on the list I posted is telling. Clemson/Dabo needs to change the way he recruits or he's toast.

Interesting. It's your opinion, so you're not wrong, I just find that to be interesting. You don't think trading in one of those Rose Bowl seasons into a natty would be better, if it meant going .500 a couple extra seasons? Because unless you're like OSU or OU every program has had average to bad seasons multiple times in this time frame.

The goal has always been the Rose Bowl. Still, the next game is more important to me.

@Kburjr has always been a non-conformist about this. I am not sure I get it totally, but mad respect for his consistency.

They've been there a bunch. What like 7/8 times?

Mark of a fan of a has been program
If there are any Big Ten teams that shoot for a national championship, they're damn fools...You play to win the Big Ten championship, and if you win it and go to the Rose Bowl and win it, then you've had a great season. If they choose to vote you number one, then you're the national champion. But a national champion is a mythical national champion, and I think you guys ought to know that. It's mythical.

Ironically, the past 6 years (even with last year's disaster) have been the best 6 year stretch in Iowa State Football History. Move over Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and L.S.U.!

2017: (8-5, 5-4), Liberty Bowl (Won)
2018: (8-5, 6-3), Alamo Bowl (Lost)
2019: (7-6, 5-4), Camping World Bowl (lost)
2020: (9-3, 8-1), Fiesta Bowl (Won)
2021: (7-6, 5-4), Cheez-It Bowl (Lost)
2022: (4-8, 1-8)

Three teams that I would expect to be on the list but are not are Washington, Auburn, and Michigan State.

Note: I am not saying they deserve to be on there, just surprising they are not.

I agree with you @Kburjr . Winning the NC is just a thing. MOST of CFB is played by teams who have never won one and never will. I enjoy Gameday @ Jack Trice Stadium and don't lose a wink of sleep that the Cyclones will never be in the CFB NC pciture.

Hmmmm…what’s been happening the last 5 years at Bama?? MORON PETE GOLDING HAS BEEN THE DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR!!

Thank God Saban has finally freed us from this dude.
