tOfficial SEC Football Thread

Yeah it is just SEC. I would rate Ohio State, Texas, Michigan fans high on the annoying list. Oregon as well (although never met one in real life, they are definitely the most annoying fans on here). From what I hear, back in the day, no fanbase could compare with Colorado. A lot of horror stories about their fan base.
I'd like to see Ohio St play Miami in Florida. The blood would flow with Midwestern trailer park thugs vs Miami's inner city dregs.

Texas Tech says hold my beer.

Miami still has fans?
Kinda'. They're inner city high school dropouts from the area (like the players)...quite violent and unsure what all that college stuff is about.

The actual student body is mostly rich kids from S. America who only understand soccer.

I thought U of Miami had a large population of Jewish Students.

North Miami has a large Jewish community and Miami's law school is pretty good. So, yeah. I think they hire their thugs for games though...contracts n sech.

What the hell is going on with the SEC?

UGA is super talented, but are missing the most important piece (Quality QB)
A&M - Decent
UF - Decent
UT - Nope
Auburn - Nope
LSU - Nope x2
Schools in Mississippi - Nope

If Alabama doesn't win the SEC without a loss, I'd be shocked. The ONLY way I could see a loss for Bama is in the SEC Championship Game if UGA finds a good QB or UF makes the final and Trask has one of those days that is historic.

Gonna see this from all schools where there aren't just freak athletes three deep at every position (Bama, Clemson, tOSU) because practice and OOC warmup games are needed. Places where kids need to be coached and need time to get into football shape are going to just be middle of the road. Barring and injury to Sunshine I fully expect this to be a clemson natty with the other three playoff teams being also-rans.

True, as I couldn't understand the poor defenses being played until I heard someone talk about the importance for live practices for things like timing and tackling, and most of that was taken away with Covid.

Granted, I never played football past 5th grade so I hadn't thought of it.

Covid impacts could always get after a team too.

I'm actually really impressed with what Pittman has done so far at Arkansas, people including myself thought they could go winless. Seems like baby Briles has evolved his V&S offense since his washed time at FSU.

Has nothing to do with improved offense. They forced 7 turnovers against Ole Miss and 4 against Miss St.

Bama is Bama.
UGA, elite D, new OC, QB issues, OL decimated by draft (2 1st round tackles, 3rd round guard), can't get past Bama, rinse, repeat.
Auburn - decimated LOS on both sides, going to run their freshman RB into the ground like usual, terrible coach with big buyout.
UTjr - getting better, but may be limited by corching - Pruitt is knowledgeable, but hothead with AD that meddles.
UF - great game coach that can't recruit to save his life. Covid carriers, missing 2 weeks of practice mid-season is going to kill them.
UK - basketball school, great coach who won't be there for long.
LSU - you can't lose 18 of 22 starters, but they are loaded, recruit well, and will be back.
USCjr - how would you like to recruit against Dabo in-state, with Mack Brown and UTjr to you north, and Smart to your West.
Arkansas - coach of the year thus far who put together a great coaching staff.
MSU - new coach in the Pirate ... give him time to get his players in and they will go 8-4 every year. 4 games in and we see what he is .. break the NCAA passing record one week, score 2 points the next.
OM - the Lane Train has shown what they can do on O, needs time to recruit D, doubt he will be there long enough - see Auburn above.
TAMU - absent a generational player, you are getting what one expect from a coach named Jimbo.
Mizzou - new head coach, in bad recruiting area, but a good O mind.
Vandy is Vandy.

Arkansas is much improved but we make all teams look like they have a heisman candidate.

Literally every team we play breaks their offensive records in school history..

As far as the 7 turnovers... Our QB was shell shocked by one (1) defense they played the whole game... he had NO idea what to do or where to throw the ball... Good offenses will beat that defense or at least make them change their defense during the game.

Great summary of every team. TN also struggles with QB issues. Give TN a good QB and they keep the game close with Georgia and beat Kentucky.

Btw, UTjr is not correct. School is older and Texas doesn't exist without Tennesseans who fought in Texas' war of independence.

Yeah, but what fun would there be in it for me with that? :beer2:

they died at the Alamo, Santa Anna flew the Mexican Flag above the Alamo when it was all said and done. Appreciate the sacrifice but Crockett and his volunteers didn't win the war for Texas.

Sam Houston was from Tennessee too and fought at San Jacinto. You don't even know Texas history lol.

Didn't realize him being a governor in TN made him a VOLs.. I guess I should thank Arkansas too since he settled there before going to Texas and fighting in the Texas revolution?

I didn't know he was born in VA.. that was something I just learned

Texas doesn't exist without Tennessee :). TN is an older school in an older state that can boast that they helped create your state. I would say Texas is UT jr. :).
