Nevertheless, the Georgia Tech question was bait that Kiffin simply could not resist with Haynes King being the Yellowjackets’ starting quarterback after transferring out of A&M this past offseason.

“They’re much improved. Their coaching staff has really, schematically, done a good job. They took the Texas A&M quarterback and he looks like a brand-new player,” Kiffin said of Georgia Tech and King. “I think they’re going to move the ball on a lot of people, but we’ve got to play better.”

Lane been on a tear this week. Shots a Jimbo and Nicky Picks

Jimbo is ruining the A&M program.

Btw. Ticket prices are rock bottom this weekend.

Lower level sidelines for $125.

I don't even call that a shot, just pointing out a fact. King does look like a completely different player. That's what happens when you don't force feed a system down a QB's throat and instead play to their strengths.

Yeah the GT fans tried that shit on week 1 as well. Just before King fumbled the ball to lose them the game.

He's exactly the same QB he was here, which is not very good.

How so? He still runs up numbers in garbage time and chokes the game away when there is any amount of pressure. He's exactly the same QB we had here for 3 years. Only difference would be that he is now in his 4th year and smarter for that. But the results are still the same. If you are up or down by 2 scores, Haynes is your man. If you need a drive to win the game, he will lose you the game 100% of the time.

Really? As you like to say, that's a "hot take".

King at Georgia Tech:
Completed 67% of his passes
Averaging over 300 yards passing a game
9 tds passes and 1 interception
QB rating of 169.0

King last year at Texas A&M:
Completed 55% of his passes
Averaged around 200 yards passing a game
7 tds passes and 6 int's
QB rating of 116.0

Which part is the same QB? I'm going out on a limb and saying King had WAY MORE TALENT to throw to than he does at Georgia Tech, yet his numbers are exponentially better. Not just better in one category, but better across the board.

You tell me which coach did a better job with King? :pound:

Closest thing we've got to Hatin' Ass Spurrier

Lane is a jester, will never take it seriously enough to win a championship

Obviously didn’t mean at olepiss
Ole Miss has locked him up long term with big buyout. No one is going to pay the kind of money it would take to hire him. Kiffin is at Ole Miss for good.

It's actually a great spot for him, imo. They're kind of like Wazzou in the PAC when The Pirate coached them. Always pretty good, challenged for the conference title every once in a while, and a bit of a thorn in the side of the top programs because they were usually good enough to pull off the upset if you weren't careful.

But, as much fun as it might be, you probably wouldn't want him at Bama or Georgia. Too much of a "loose cannon".

A 10 win season here and there with an occasional win over Alabama and you have a job for life. If he won the Western Division they would name the field after him.

Jimbo says Auburn was robbed in '83....

“I’ll give you a little bit of history here. In ’83, I’ll say this for Auburn. Auburn got cheated out of a national championship,” Fisher said. “In 1983 they won the SEC. They’re No. 3 in the country. They played seven top 20 ranked teams. That’s when Florida was loaded with Wilber Marshall and James Jones and that whole crew – Wayne Peace. They played Alabama, Georgia. Georgia had gone to three straight national championships. Herschel (Walker) had just left. Tennessee was loaded. I mean that whole schedule was.”

Look at the splits of when the game is close vs when it isn't, like I said already.
