honestly, i think he did it to ensure ESPN was on board giving them a life boat over the PAC.. ESPN is paying a larger portion of the new media deal than FOX.. ESPN also said they would pay whatever schools it deemed fit for expansion at the same rate.. FOX was the one who said they would not pay the same rate for a school that isn't in a P5 conference.

This is the equivalent of an employer telling an employee "We're not gonna pay you for not showing up to work for the next two years" after said employee quits. Well fucking DUH.
He didn't enforce the GOR and let them walk for free because he didn't want to go to court? Not only did TX/OU walk a year early with zero penalty, they got a massive pay raise for doing just that.

Yeah I’m with thiefy on this one. The network (ESPN) gave them (my school included) a lifeline I’d bet. Yormark even stated this was a business decision. Really don’t think he had any other choice and these presidents pretending like they had no idea is absolute bullshit imo. And that’s why espn played ball with the B12 while they let the PAC die after that first offer (the one the B12 eventually got) was rejected.
