"We had players that were here that are now gone, playing at another school that should be here playing right now. Because again, NIL. We didn’t pay them. We didn’t pay them enough. That is the fact of life. And I know that we all laugh at it but that is a fact. So if we want to keep players, all these guys we have, they won’t be here next year. Just making sure everybody understands. Our fans, [the good players] won’t be here. We’ll be a Triple-A ballclub for somebody else. That is the reality and the truth of the situation."

Poor Fred his team is about to be in Tipple-A.

So exactly what everyone said would happen is happening?

Checking Minnesotas roster and taking notes.

Minnesota doesn't have boosters? WTF kind of Micky Mouse program is he running?

As a Gophers bball fan, this is pretty much spot on. The NIL opportunities at Minnesota are pretty weak. The basketball team lost a top 30 kid in the 2023 class to Louisville because of NIL. Of course it didn't help that the ball program had the worst season of my lifetime.

Let's see a top recruit is looking at Minnesota and LOUISVILLE and the reason he didn't choose the Gophers is because of NIL. That seems reasonable.

I'm guessing you don't watch much college basketball these days. Louisville basketball is a complete and total shitshow at the moment, so I'm sure the NIL had to be a big part.

I just don't get it. Of course they have to have some reasonably successful alum that would help with that kind of fund. They shelled out the money for their new stadium, why not pay to have good players playing in it?

I guess you’ve never lived in Minnesota.
