Coach Prime did the impossible!!!

I'm going to drop these right here:

a 2nd QB just decommitted

You can't say "they" when like 90% of the team and coaching staff are brand new. He disrupted the entire program and likely won't be there long. I think by the time he leaves it will have been a massive net negative for them.

He demoted his OC, who was far from the problem of the team, late in the season for a doofus who used to run incomplete pass drills in Denver with the Broncos. Guy just does whatever he wants because he can basically, it's no way to run a major college football program.

You can get away with that shit in the FCS, but not at a P5 school.

I bet he turns over a insane amount of the roster again this offseason because things didn't go as well as he thought they would after 1 year........Some of the idiot media cock gobblers will eat that up and praise it as "doing what needs to be done!" of course. But we all know that's a losing strategy.

Is blowing a 29-0 lead to a totally garbage 3-9 Stanford team at home and losing 56-14 to a well below average 5-7 Wazzu squad all part of the right step?

Obviously, that is not a great look, but that was commonplace last year with getting blown out. They were MUCH more competitive this season. They weren't just the worst P5 team in the country a season ago (by a mile) they may have been the worst FBS team a season ago. They should return all their skills guys minus Weaver (unless they Portal), so I'd expect another incremental step in the right direction next year. They were much improved this year.

It's almost the early signing day and Colorado has fucking 9 commits' for this class!

At this point those empty spots arent being filled by a rush of big time recruits, gonna be a ton of random 3* filler.

Yep. his idiotic antics aren't built for long-term success at the FBS level. He didn't beat a single team that was even bowl eligible despite having more talent than probably 8 or 9 teams on the schedule.

I think Deion is a massive control ego freak and will flip a ridiculous amount of the roster in favor of only lateral portal moves again because this season didn't end up as good as he thought it should had.

They aren't even built for real short term success

He may get lucky flipping a ton of the roster again and end up with 6 or maybe 7 wins in that ridiculous Big 12 next year. But that's about the ceiling.

What's negative about that? They've sucked for years, and we're awful last year. You aren't winning with the players they had last year. It could absolutely end up being a dumpster fire in the end, but there's no way he's leaving the program worse off because that's literally impossible.

Going back to this, The skill guys are nice but they are such a wreck on the Oline and defense that having those skill players doesn't really matter in the end.

lol. 1-8 in conference. Real impressive squeaking out a couple out of conference wins before league play.

Colorado played an exponentially tougher schedule in 2022 than in 2023. They played the toughest OOC of any team in 2022.

2022:
10-3 Air Force
9-4 Minnesota
13-2 TCU

2023:
5-7 Nebraska
5-7 TCU
5-7 Colorado State

They traded a 2022 win over 4-8 Cal for a 2023 win over 3-9 ASU. Not much improvement IMO.

You think he had more talent than 8/9 teams on his schedule? I'm not seeing that. He's got his kid and Hunter, but I don't think they'll have anyone get drafted off this team (assuming his son returns). Their best talent was pretty young outside Weaver. And their lines and LB's we're pretty trash.

Because they could have actually tried going after a talented G5 or even FCS HC that is interested in actually building a program and being professional instead of turning it into a circus. He's making $6m a year and likely is gone after next season. That's two wasted years that could've been spent trying to rebuild the program the right way.

And that would be a great success IMO. It's Colorado, they've been shit this entire century (minus 2016). Deion is annoying as hell, but they were better this year.

I'd agree with this. He's gotta get better on the lines in the portal, but those are the toughest positions to recruit too, especially when you're a team like Colorado.

You focus too much on last year. It was the aberration. Over the last decade, Colorado has averaged 4.4 wins.

The only reason they will do better is if the competition is easier. They will lose 3-4 coaches, and they will have to rebuild the LOS from the portal which is really hard to do.

The Deon shine is off and it will show this off-season. There is a reason they just lost 3 of their top recruits - 2 QBs and an OL.

As someone said above, pimping ain't easy, and that's all he is.

He had the top group of portal kids in the nation. I'd put his talent this year ahead of TCU, Nebraska, Colorado St, Arizona State, Arizona, Stanford, and Washington State. Coin flip with Utah and Oregon State, but those teams were significantly more disciplined and better coached.
