The College FB Playoff Thread…powered by butthurt

Thing is, they didn't actually do 'everything' they could. 55th in SoS says they could have added meat in their OOC and didn't.

That's the only part that leaves me happy. Make it so those cupcake OOC's stop being rewarded.
I mean, they played LSU and Florida OOC and beat LSU far more convincingly than Bama did

If Georgia beats bama does Texas get in over fsu? I don’t think so

How is this 12 game playoff gonna work? 5 auto bids(4 major conferences and top G5 team) and 7 at large bids?

When people ask “why does ND insist on being independent?” This is part of the reason why. Any conference but one gets you nothing but a dick in the mouth.

. Pretty good point from this moron

Eh, I figure them putting FSU ahead of Georgia is their way of granting the Seminoles a consolation prize for not making the top 4, I wouldnt read too much into it. And yes, Greeny is a turd

That is what makeup is for

Yeah, playing so many ACC schools seems like a great move right now!

We've had the same argument for whatever undefeated G5's are out there. If your own conf doesn't provide the meat to justify a top 4 ranking, then you must have nothing but the best in OOC right?
There aren't 5 P5's anymore. The ACC isn't a power conf right now, the Big12 had maybe 2 teams, the Pac was better this year, but recently had maybe 1-2 that were OK.

It's been the B1G and the SEC for a while now.

There isn't going to be enough meat on the bone in semi bad conferences alone.

Playing Southern Miss and Northern Alabama isn't good enough. And it shouldn't be.

the QB is the most important position in sports. so yes...teams aren't the same if there is a drop off at qb
So it’s nothing more than a future predictor. We don’t think your chances are as good so we’ll deny you the shot even though you passed literally every other metric we have ever considered.

Quick name even one team that was left off because of injuries to a player.

I’m no fan of it. It’s for money, bowl tie ins, and to give a place for our non-revenue sports.

Until this year we won 29 straight ACC games.

They played LSU, Southern Miss and Florida OOC and their conference schedule.

LSU finished 9-3. Not their fault Florida and much of their conference had down years.

2 SEC teams and their conference schedule seems solid enough. The only cupcake they scheduled themselves was Southern Miss.

Meanwhile, Alabama scheduled Middle Tennessee, USF and Chattanooga.

Not sure what more FSU was supposed to do.

I'm not saying I agree with this decision but I absolutely disagree with his statement.

I just called out earlier to really look at FSU computer score because it gave them more reason to do this

Honestly I thought Herbstreit looked troubled saying what he was obviously told to say.

FSU has won a decent number of ACC games in a row as well.
