Off topic. Why are DFW/North Texas high schools kicking the crap out of the Houston/Gulf Coast area schools?
The same way Tulsa dominates larger OKC with better coaching and money for transfers.

Really hope he does well. I had high hopes for him but he didn't fit Knowles' scheme. Good for him finding a good fit still close to home, hope he kills it.
We certainly can use him, he’ll be one of our best on paper instantly.

have no idea.. think more people are moving to the DFW area?? I think there is better coaching than there are down here.. My oldest daughter attends Dickinson high school.. they have talent.. they have had players go to aggy, TCU, Mizzu, Tech, LSU, Arkansas, etc.. but the coach is retarded..
That's got to have something to do with it because there has to be good talent in the Gulf Coast area. PNG did win it this year. Outside them and North Shore, I can't think of much success from the area lately.

I didn't know the Tulsa are was much better than the OKC area. My cousin's lives in Yukon and hasn't kept me informed. I'll have to get on his ass about that.

There is definitely money in Southlake. (Scuttlebutt a few years ago that there was something like 33 children/grandchildren of current or former Cowboys/Mavs/Rangers/Stars in school there at one time.) But DeSoto, Duncanville, Aledo, etal aren't even close to the same tax bracket that Southlake is and they've been real good. South Oak Cliff ain't either...but I understand there is a lot of redevelopments going on in that area.

It's been close to 30 years since an OKC school has won class 6A. Union and Jenks dominated it forever. Then Owasso had their run with Bill Blankenship and now Bixby has won the last how ever many and is unstoppable. Yukon and Mustang(where I live) are the only OKC big schools that have not split like the Tulsa schools. Edmond, Norman, Midwest City, Moore all have multiple high schools now. I think Mustang will be able to challenge in the next few years.

Summer Creek (Atascocita) is pretty good program.. they got waxed Saturday but they are becoming a powerhouse down here

also from the locals i talk to who are heavy into HSFB.. said the hurricane a few years ago really messed things up.. pretty much killed Texas City and La Marque

Well with today being the early NSD I’d like to say congratulations to our future portal participants.

The transfer portal has really rendered National Signing Day meaningless. Or at least relegated to second banana.

So you're saying Ohio State only signing 1 DL (a 3*) is not that big of a deal? lol.

They can go out and shop for one. So, TBD.

Except we always seem to get outbid by the SEC or Miami types. So we are just gonna end up with 3* caliber talents in the portal too.

Completely ridiculous that a school with the resources and huge alumni network Ohio State has can't put together a competitive NIL plan.

The current system is not sustainable, it will play itself out. People with money don’t like to feel like they are throwing it away and only one team wins every year. Imagine continuously going back to the same guy for money after the last 3 or whatever he paid for didn’t pan out. Contracts are coming, they have to be.

I thought the same thing but it seems to just be getting worse instead of showing any signs slowing down currently.

Eh it’s very early in the process. People with money all of the sudden think they can impact the on the field stuff. Most will realize they are pissing their money away.

I think the pivot that will come is the schools just tossing money around will stop giving blank checks to HS recruits and focus more of that money more toward more proven players in transfer portal.

This is actually an area where I think ND is doing it right.

I think we’re starting to see a lot of guys are not getting everything they were promised. It becomes a distraction and may fuel more portal jumping.

ND makes sure everyone gets a piece of the pie. Obviously the top talents can do their own thing but even knows they’re guaranteed something.

It may not be what some of the outlandish numbers we hear about but to hear some players tell it they’re not even getting that either.
