Nebraska and B1G isn’t working

I'm not sure of the timetable of what exactly happened..... but I believe that Nebraska probably screwed up by not FIRST approaching the B1G Throne to see if it would be okay for the Cornhuskers to seek out a replacement game. Did Nebraska not ask permission from the Crown first? If they didn't, they should have.

Or perhaps Nebraska did ask permission first, but was rejected due to the new opponent not having adequate Covid procedures? I dunno what happened.

No Divisions. That didn't work well the first time. The way it is now is so much better! So, add Nebraska and play a 9 or 10 game Conference schedule with the top 2 teams playing in the CCG.
I agree, it’s a great point. Will need to be protected crossover games.(Basically for Oklahoma so they are guaranteed junior, brasky and Texas, also the Kansas schools playing each other) Not sure how some will feel about not playing in Texas more than once a year some years.

Maryland also has the most recent basketball natty out of any school in the big ten

of course, they did that when they were in the ACC. highly doubtful they are going to be able to accomplish that feat as a member of the big ten

It's weird because Rutgers seems like more of a fit than Nebraska and MD ever have. I guess when you have such deep ties to the conferences you came from it's hard to pull that out of your memory bank. I guess Rutgers only being in the Big East for only like 20 years has actually helped them in terms of fitting in more. MD and Nebraska just seem like they'll never fit.

b/c big ten teams don't win basketball nattys

in all seriousness, I do think they can win a natty but its really weird that it's been two decades since the big ten won a national title in basketball

it's a good league

The B1G has been really good the last 2 seasons, but prior to that it was really down, especially 2017 and 2018. I think the biggest problem is lack of high end recruiting. It's more of a developmental league. Sure a bunch of programs recruit at a top 25 level, but most of the top 25 type of kids go elsewhere. That and MSU has blown a ton of chances to realistically win it. 2019 comes to mind, 2018 comes to mind, 2016 comes to mind. Hell even 2010. Michigan made a nice run in 2018 but I don't think anyone thought they had realistic chances to win it going into the tournament. Plus they ran into a complete buzzsaw in the title game. Nova was so fucking good.

Fuck BYU. I say either a 10 conference game round robin... or send WV back to the country roads.

BYU would be a great addition IMO. Have fan base, attractive TV market, somewhat, have a good history. They would be the best team in the B12 this year IMO.

Honestly. If Nebraska had actually contributed anything in any sport the last 8 years of being part of the b10 then maybe someone would care. But in the major sports they’ve sucked. Maryland has provided more.

You were the kid in gym class that didn’t get pubic hair until 12th grade, weren’t you?
