He's got a point tho.... shelling out a few grand and then watching someone else's kid that sucks, cost your team at a crucial point... that'll piss anyone off
When I played youth baseball, we didn't have to pay anything. But they had a two-tier system: if you did good at tryouts, you made a "Major League" team that got to travel and compete in regionals and for the state championship. If you were cut, you got to play in a "Minors" system, all within the county. I don't know how the Major system was funded.

Congrats to the Vikings!

Such a "Vikings" thing to do.... fuck up their draft position...

But I guess - beating the Pack any time is worth it. Especially at Lambeau...

Too bad the Bears couldn't take advantage of it. Such a Bears thing to do.... :L

I'm sure your parents paid something for you to play... even if minimal. You're not much older than me, and even Rec league had paid umps and maintained fields.

Shirts were usually sponsored by ABC Construction, or XYZ Insurance Agency....

If they paid anything, I didn't know about it. I do remember that we had to do a lot of fundraising. Every weekend we were out trying to sell candy bars.

I remember when I made my first team, my mom was there. The manager/coach was talking about the "team mother" job, and every other kid on the team turned and looked at my mom.

She sat there stone faced. She never did jack squat for that team.

apparently there was a board meeting where it was discussed cutting 5 of the 6 players our old team brought to the merger...wanna guess who made the cut :dhd: i thought that was harsh because they didnt bring all 5 tool players either so i called the coach today and its really its all about 2 maybe 3 girls which i agree with. unfortunately one of those 3 is daughter of an assistant coach and anothers dad is the president of one of the 2 local little leagues trying to merge as well. all of it is so dumb.

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (AP) — The actor Eddie Hassell, known for his roles in the NBC show “Surface” and the 2010 film “The Kids Are All Right,” has died after a shooting in Texas, police said. He was 30.
The shooting happened early Sunday in the Dallas suburb of Grand Prairie, police said. Grand Prairie police said in a statement that officers responded to a report of a shooting and found Hassell suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

I thought for a moment someone finally got that punk from "Leave it to Beaver."
