Smells like broke ass bitch in here. Cry me a fucking River and get those funds up.

Unless he offers up any proof, gotta agree that he sounds like a little bitch. this is how college sports work now, and it's going to continue to evolve and happen. If a non-P5, and heck even a non-top 10 team, has a player that they recruit and develop and plays well then someone is going to steal them. And I have no issue with it. Creates a tiered system but we already had that. All this does is allow kids who didn't peak in HS to still have an easy path to a bigger stage.

kinda rich coming from Bama who were crying about Downs.. who then made UGA fans cry when he went to tosu lol

I’m more interested in the fact Bama was hard up for a kicker they had to steal one from Miami Ohio.

The cupboard must have been bare.

Nebraska has 3 field goal kickers, Bama only had zero? Times have really changed- so who stole the Tides kicker in the first place?

Does it matter nowadays whether he has any proof or not?

It's all gonna be fun and games until the politicians step in someday. And then the Wild Wild West will turn into a real shit show when some honk and his cronies pass "laws" that will do little more than just muddy the water even more. Do not doubt me. The courts are one thing but the politicians and bureaucrats will hop all over college football someday for their own nefarious purposes. And why? Because a bunch of jealous, poor programs will demand "justice".

Roethlisberger came from Miami Ohio.

I totally get the butthurt by these Non P5/Small P5 coaches, but it's just common sense that players are going to run to bigger programs if they ball out and are offered the chance. I doubt there's much illegal activity here, maybe some shady contact before the portal officially opened or something but these guys aren't staying put regardless.

wait, what? Bama went out and got literally the best collegiate kicker from the previous year.

Most of those politicians went to college, get great seats and to run elbows with "famous" players and coaches, and are voted in by die hard fans. They aren't going to step in and change anything unless forced to do so :suds:

I put the odds at 100% that every program is out there contacting players on other college teams and even HS teams. It may not be rampant at every school, but it's happening. The gray area is when it isn't a coach but a player, maybe someone who went to a college who reaches out to current HS player from the same school to talk about how great it is or how much NIL they could make there. But it isn't like there is a cone of silence around athletes, they are talking to friends and people with agendas.

You completely missed the incentive for those politicians to do exactly what I predicted. Those players and coaches will demand "justice" when they see their share of the pie being (in their opinion) too small. That's when those politicians will step in to "protect their constituents' interests".

No that kicker is a sophmore at Auburn.
I don't follow Auburn special teams nor did I know that the award for the best kicker in CFB is called the Lou Groza award before this thread, but the kid Bama just got won that award last season. :noidea:

So the new Bama kicker is a rapist?
Very likely.

A funny aside, @HammerDown once banned me from EuroHoop after I started a poll titled something like "Interesting cross-sport athlete comparison," in which I asked, between Roethlisberger and Kobe, who do you think is the better rapist.

When he let me back in, he changed my signature to the one you see now and I've kept it ever since.

Oh I totally agree. My point is that these players are gonna leave for greener pastures anyway, someone from whatever school contacting them, be it shady or not likely had zero effect on the ultimate departure of the player, maybe the ultimate destination but not the departure itself.
