Week 1 LOL's

LOL at the AP writers. Moving a team from not even getting votes to number 23 because they beat a team that is now 0-2 (that team lost to 2 teams that didn’t receive votes in the preseason poll) and Georgia State.

“Journalist” are so full of themselves. They couldn’t have been that wrong about FSU so Ga Tech must be really good. Wouldn’t be surprised if BC beating Duquesne this week also puts them in the top 25. Primarily because they beat a team with the number 10 next to their name. The fact that it shouldn’t have been there to begin with (which I assume everyone knows now) is inconsequential.

How does it make sense? The sell donuts.

6 dozen doesn't seem like a lot.

It's not like he walked into a McDonald's and ordered 6 dozen Big Macs.

Same reason that virtually any restaurant would want a day or so of advance notice on an unusually large order. They prepare the amount of food they expect to sell. This is especially true for something like donuts where they are pre-made. Even restaurants that make the food after it's ordered only have so much prepped. Then there's the amount of time that it takes to put together an order of that size.

Dunkins, here in Texas at least, aren't huge establishments. Going in and getting 72 donuts could easily hold up other customers looking to get in and out.

I wonder if they offered him an option to wait but he couldn't. I could see that as being most likely, something like "I can't let you empty our stock of glazed/chocolate but we will get those started if you can wait 10 minutes".

Bring three people. Go in individually. Problem solved.

Exactly.

So if two unexpected extra customers come in and buy two dozen donuts each that day, then Dunkin' is fucked?

If I'm in the business of selling donuts, I'm selling what I got 'first come first served'. If I run out and a customer comes in the door, I tell them they're welcome to wait while I'm making some more, or here's a savings coupon for another day.

Time of day probably matters as well. If you do that after 9am, probably fine and they will sell you what they have. Do it at 7am and they aren't going to bend rules. It's a LOT easier for a min wage worker to tell someone "sorry I can only sell you 2 dozen" than to tell the next customer "sorry we are a donut shop that is out of donuts unless you want to wait 10 minutes".

"No chicken? Or they just outta chicken?"

Let's not forget that a lot of Dunkin' locations receive frozen donuts, not fresh made. That order could clearly put a dent in the inventory.

I did not know this, but it justifies why I don't care for their stuff. Much rather have the local, korean owned donuts that are made fresh every morning and you get the donut holes for free when you visit.

Man. There is a shop almost walking distance from my house. Not sure if they Korean or not. They have to have the best donuts I have ever had. Not a fan of the uppity bitch that runs it. However A+ donuts.
