Pac12 expansion - looking to add 4 teams

texas state maybe trying to throw its hat in the mix by giving Arizona State a run for their money
 
overall isnt the mountain west only really giving like 4 mil per school?

so any deal where the Pac lands them more makes the move a good one.
 
If they can pick up 2 more "states" they can rename the conference as States of the Union

Everything I've read is that this is costing them $111 million because of the $43 million and covering the exit fees. Which is why doing it now saves them about $68 million.

Yeah, it is a downgrade from what they were in, in the P12, not the P2. They aren't in the P12 anymore. They aren't in a conference anymore. They weren't going to get a B12/ACC invite within the next year. They don't have access to the CFP. Their current situation is pretty shitty.

They will now have a conference, they will now have access to the CFP, they will now receive payment from the CFP. They will see an uptick in their TV deal.

What do you suggest they do? Wait around for nobody to invite them? This is an upgrade from what they currently have.

No ones arguing their current situation isn’t shitty Eric, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a downgrade. They are going to be making far less money then they were, specifically when that chest runs out. As you stated, A DOWNGRADE. My whole point.

They won't though. Their TV deal will be better, they will get a CFP rev share, and actually have access to participate. That's a huge upgrade currently.

Yes, yes they will. No one on Gods green earth can believe they are paying their athletic department off of 6 home games on the CW. That war chest along with bringing in these newbies is going to be depleted. The college football playoff share is something but it’s likely less than 2 million. It’s a downgrade.

He can’t comprehend that the 10 other schools left the conference and anything less than $40 million a year as an independent is a step down. This is a massive step up just in terms of scheduling. Oregon State is basically going independent for a year in baseball and that isn’t sustainable

Everybody east of the Rockies is drunk and banging Susi Rottencrotch by the time the PAC games come on. It's literally why the original PAC couldn't get a decent TV contract and folded to begin with. All those teams that left went to time zones that make money.

For the 100th time no conference is guarateed a spot. 5 Highest ranked conference champs. Could be sec pac bigten acc and aac or sec big xii pac big ten and sun belt
