Pac12 expansion - looking to add 4 teams

texas state maybe trying to throw its hat in the mix by giving Arizona State a run for their money

overall isnt the mountain west only really giving like 4 mil per school?

so any deal where the Pac lands them more makes the move a good one.

If they can pick up 2 more "states" they can rename the conference as States of the Union

I’ve read it’s $43 million in poaching fees the PAC owes via this years scheduling agreement and $18 million a team leaving which those schools themselves will be largely responsible for.

You yourself admitted it’s a downgrade. How the hell can you say you don’t understand? Not only will they (OSU/WSU) be earning less when this chest runs out, they also will be in a mid major conference.

Everything I've read is that this is costing them $111 million because of the $43 million and covering the exit fees. Which is why doing it now saves them about $68 million.

*In fact, it’s going to cost roughly $110 million in exit fees and “poaching penalties” just to land the Pac-12 a deal that two industry sources estimate may only net the conference $10 million per school annually — $20 million less than the ESPN offer the Pac-12 infamously turned down in 2022". - The Athletic

Yeah, it is a downgrade from what they were in, in the P12, not the P2. They aren't in the P12 anymore. They aren't in a conference anymore. They weren't going to get a B12/ACC invite within the next year. They don't have access to the CFP. Their current situation is pretty shitty.

They will now have a conference, they will now have access to the CFP, they will now receive payment from the CFP. They will see an uptick in their TV deal.

What do you suggest they do? Wait around for nobody to invite them? This is an upgrade from what they currently have.

No ones arguing their current situation isn’t shitty Eric, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a downgrade. They are going to be making far less money then they were, specifically when that chest runs out. As you stated, A DOWNGRADE. My whole point.

Looks like UNLV doesn’t have a chance unless they change their name. This conference will be named State Conference until further notice-Oregon STATE, Washington STATE, San Diego STATE, Fresno STATE, Boise STATE, Colorado STATE…
Well Utah STATE hasn’t gotten the invite yet

How in the fuck would we be catabolizing anything by adding acc teams you infant fuckstick? You didn't explain shit and it's quite obvious you can't.

I'm going to make this real easy for you because you are ether pretending to be stupid or are truly fucking mentally retarded.

MWC paid each member $4 million dollars in 2022-2023.
The PAC paid each member $33.6 million dollars in 2022-2023.

33.6 > 4

2 PAC teams added 4 MWC teams. This isn't complicated shit. You aren't making nor ever will make what you did in the PAC adding mid majors. And that's without even touching the P label you arent retrieving at this point. Understand yet cement head?
Are you that retarded? Seriously dude, you have something wrong with you. In case you can’t math, .01>0

They won't though. Their TV deal will be better, they will get a CFP rev share, and actually have access to participate. That's a huge upgrade currently.

really clown boy, you are getting paid ZERO these next two years???

Yes, yes they will. No one on Gods green earth can believe they are paying their athletic department off of 6 home games on the CW. That war chest along with bringing in these newbies is going to be depleted. The college football playoff share is something but it’s likely less than 2 million. It’s a downgrade.

He can’t comprehend that the 10 other schools left the conference and anything less than $40 million a year as an independent is a step down. This is a massive step up just in terms of scheduling. Oregon State is basically going independent for a year in baseball and that isn’t sustainable

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I've seen no dialogue that this was a bad thing for the P2 or a downgrade from their current situation.

I have no problem agreeing to disagree. I’ve seen fans pissed they’ve relegated themselves to mid major status. But to each their own.

I already gave you my answer on the Big 12/ACC. Your comprehension isn’t my fault.

And you are obviously a retard level child if you think your last sentence makes any sense. There is literally nothing about this move that is a downgrade. If you rewind the clock to 2022, ok kicking out the other 10 members and adding those 4 teams in, yes that would be a downgrade. But you and your low IQ doesn’t realize we are living in 2024 where those members are gone and instead of joining the MWC, we took their best teams. If that doesn’t square up to you then I suggest you go Billy Madison and go back to school.

The new PAC ain't gonna make more than the MWC or even the Sun Belt for that matter.

The reason why is your time zone.

Everybody east of the Rockies is drunk and banging Susi Rottencrotch by the time the PAC games come on. It's literally why the original PAC couldn't get a decent TV contract and folded to begin with. All those teams that left went to time zones that make money.

Those fans are delusional then. Unfortunately, that was already out of their control.

I'll take that bet. My guess is they might even get triple what the MWC deal currently is.

They currently have no access to the CFP, they now will. Will the league be guaranteed a spot? No
For the 100th time no conference is guarateed a spot. 5 Highest ranked conference champs. Could be sec pac bigten acc and aac or sec big xii pac big ten and sun belt
