2024 College Football TV Ratings

Well yeah. That was a good week for ABC.

However, there will be weeks where the Big 10's FOX, NBC, & CBS, overtake them.
I could see a couple of B1G games that will do better than SEC, but now that we are pretty much into conference play I think ABC will still hold the 1 or 2 spot each week and likely 3 of the top 5.

We shall see, but S. Carolina/Kentucky on ABC only brought in 2.73 million in Week 2. They were 6th overall.

I'd say Michigan vs. OSU will do a monster rating(probably #1) and OSU vs. Oregon will do a good rating, but I agree. I think the SEC just has more good games. Week's 7 & 10 offer some amazing matchups and then OSU vs Michigan, but for as many teams as there are, there aren't a lot of truly great matchups. I do think if Nebraska keeps up and keeps winning that will add a couple high end games towards the end of the year against OSU and USC. There are only 12 ranked on ranked matchups as of now, that remain(not counting ND/USC). And 4 of them involve Illinois, who probably won't remain ranked and isn't a great draw. There are 17 remaining in the SEC for comparison.

The numbers for UGA v. UA are going to be out of this world. Same for UGA v. TX. Getting rid of divisions and the SEC and B1G conference expansion moves are going to drive some big numbers. UCA and Washington aren't helping the B1G, but USC is going to outperform based on what we have seen. And UO will do just fine.

UM v tOSU is always the most watched regular season game.

Yeah, but neither South Carolina or UK is a great TV draw. I'd actually say that's a pretty good number given the teams involved. The B1G has only had two conference games thus far, but combined they didn't draw what that one did. USC vs. Michigan will be a huge litmus test. Two big brands, middle of the day on CBS, with not a lot of competition in that window. Can that game get 8+ million?

UM v tOSU is always the most watched regular season game.

It has been as of late, since 2015(for the most part), but prior to Harbaugh, the Iron Bowl was typically the highest rated, except for 2012 when ND vs. USC was by a pretty wide margin. If Michigan is a 4/5 loss team I can see that not being #1 this year.

Oh, I'm not talking all season but week to week. All season the top games will be Jexas/OU, UM/tOSU, and A&M/Jexas

Yeah, I agree. Especially if it's opposite ND/USC.
that game will lose it's luster the more ND gets upset as the season goes along.. UT/aggy been on the fire for over a decade

The ND/USC game always rates better when it's at the end of the year. Even when ND sucked in 2016 the game still almost got 6 million. In 2012 it got over 16 million viewers. If both teams are good, it's going to get a monster rating. If both these games are on at the same time neither will be top 5 on the season though.

All of Texas is going to be tuning into that game..at least til halftime when my Horns build a 28 pt lead by then :)

And outside of Texas interest is going to be split
