I’m only about 30 miles from the NC and TN state lines in north GA and they’re saying it will still be tropical storm strength when it gets here.
Already had a bunch of rain, just had a skeleton crew at work today just someone to man the scales, one loader man for the few customers, and then me and the QC man. Tomorrow we’re closing the entire facility, and that has never happened at any quarry I’ve worked at
I filled up all my gas cans and made sure my generator is in good working order. My satellite signal is more reliable than my electricity in storms, and I figure I’ll lose power some time over night or early in the morning and probably won’t get it back for a few days
It would take a biblical level rain for it to flood here, but I bet Atlanta is gonna see a ton of floodingGonna take a while for this thing to wind down once onshore. Potentially still Cat 1 wind gusts well into Georgia.
There's a lot of water in this storm. If I were near a creek/river I'd be concerned about flooding well inland.
View attachment 125726my cousin house 10 miles west of eyeball landfall, west of Steinhatchee. The good Lord was looking out for her and so thankful her house has been untouched! The river has flooded into the yard. It took them until today to get the road cleared for them to access their homes. Shes approximately 3 miles upthe Aucilla from the gulf.
