Week 8 Playoff Projections

They are. It's not a conference game
"We're in the same conference but when we play each other let's don't count it as a conference game." Makes a lot of sense.

Sooooo it would be equivalent to OU/Texas playing the RRSO every year but that game not being considered as an SEC conference game.

Am I understanding correctly?

Utah/Baylor and K-State/Arizona played non conference games against each other this year. I know NC State and UVA have non conference games scheduled in the future.

Those are annual rivalries games like Army/Navy, RRSO, WLOCP, Iron Bowl, Egg Bowl, etc.

So the Army/Navy game was always going to be after the conference champ had been decided, so making it non-con is the only way to go since it cannot have any impact on the standings.

Army/Navy also has a separate contract with CBS for the rights to the game.

It is possible for Army and Navy to play the AAC CCG against each other and then play their annual game the next week.

Hmmm, never thought about television revenue paid to the service academies. Wonder if the payment is to the US Treasury.

Texas A&M is gonna be in the playoff. Their schedule is so fkn easy the rest of the way and they get Texas at home
Still laughing about this. We have the #8 SOR and to this melting down tider our schedule is "so fkn easy".

Just wondering, are the cadets/midshipmen allowed to receive NIL money?

Kickbacks to Federal employees?

I don't know about NIL, but I'd have to think those cadets are simply more disciplined in their assignments.
"Be where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be there." Discipline can override talent to certain extents.

The military is first and foremost about discipline and I can see that translating onto the football field.

And not a bunch of smack either.

Won’t get any argument from me on that.

They are also college athletes, no? They shouldn’t be penalized by not being allowed to get some NIL money.

You can be sure your typical university athlete doesn't have to fold his tighty whitey underwear and t-shirts into 6" squares for inspection. Hangers in his locker spaced 1" apart, etc.

I don't know how a cadet falls under the federal employees receiving 'gifts' rules applies.

I did a lot of work for the military as a defense sub-contractor. I couldn't even take them out to lunch without the rule being violated. That didn't matter if they were military or civilian fed employees.
