Debate and discuss.

I posted this in the other CFP thread. So, sue me.

I was preparing a nice piece of salmon for supper. I missed some of it. Did I hear someone say that the Ole Miss victory over Georgia is why they are ranked ahead of them? If so, should Tennessee be ranked ahead of Alabama? I could have heard all that wrong. Just curious.

And I know wins and all matters, but right now, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Georgia would push Miami's shit in.

I mean, Penn State is the closest you can get to a bye without actually having a bye

Since Michigan is a train wreck this year -- I haven't paid attention to the CFP rankings. I just got a look at them today for the first time and WOW -- talk about ass backwards.

So many teams ranked ahead of teams like Georgia and Bama who would be two score underdogs if they were to play them. How in the hell is Miami #3? Boise State #4? So many questions.

I haven't looked into how they are set up, so maybe they are slotted into these spots by default, but my lord. These seeding look crazy to me.

They're not there in the rankings, it's more of a "if the season ended right now, this would be their final ranking". The bullshit autobid for the top 4 conference champs is why we have this.

Head to head matters.........sometimes. SOS, not much at all. BYU beat SMU and they are ranked behind them as well.

Yeah, this committee seems to value things much differently than previous ones. I have no idea why. 12 team playoff instead of 4?

Eye test has always been the biggest factor.

looks like a bunch of C-C-C-O-O-O-L-L-L-D-D-D first round games
Season 2 Lol GIF by Insecure on HBO

Don’t worry BSU and our high school QB will blow it before the playoffs start

Yup, UGA seems to have a wall in front of them because of H2H - I doubt we can move past Bama or Ole Miss because they beat us. But, we beat Texas by 15 points at their place and have a far better body of work, but they aren't 11, they are 3. And SMU is in front of BYU even though BYU beat them, so H2H doesn't matter there. No one, including the Committee has any idea what the fuck they are doing.

Bullshit.
Oh, stop. Just because you are 1, something I have no problem with, you keep blabbing on and on about "eye test" but you can't define what that means or how it is applied. The Committee has always been all over the place. Because there are more teams it just is more obvious now as they have to concentrate on about 15 teams instead of about 6-8.
