What if,

Y’all had swapped QB’s at the beginning of this season?

Better seasons?

Same results?

Worse seasons?

Not sure, new coach, new philosophies

Milroe is just not smart enough to be an elite quarterback. Super nice kid and one hell of an athlete, but he just doesn’t have it. He doesn’t really have any touch for the short pass and he can be hit or miss on the long ball and if he can’t run, then he usually doesn’t have a very good game.

We need to run the ball and we haven’t been able to do that with our running backs this year. Could be the line could be the offensive philosophy/play calling.

I’m not saying that Ty Johnson is the answer, but I would have liked to have seen the kid play a little more. Especially the start of the second half against Oklahoma.

We still would have ran the ball up the middle against scUM

Better question -- would Ohio State have lost a game had Kyle McCord stayed?

A year ago today, Kyle McCord moved on from Nebraska to Syracuse.

Imagine if we had him this year and let Dylan redshirt.
I'm hoping we can get a decent QB in the portal so we aren't forced to start Underwood in year 1 -- to prevent that exact thing. That is, of course, unless we promised him to start day 1 as part of his commitment. But you can ruin a kid by starting him too early. Though, I think Nebraska will be fine. First bowl game in like 8 years is a leap forward...but not a huge one. (though, after our struggles this year and still making a bowl it is hard to imagine how nebraska has been that bad this long).

Ewers was offered 4 mill by a big ten team to stay another year in college. Maybe it was Michigan and not Ohio st. Rumors are is that he is taking it

Actually. I guess he is gone

247 just logged a prediction of the Maryland QB -- something Edwards? Seems fairly decent stats for being on such a bad team.

From what I’ve seen, Milroe really only comes to play when he’s facing UGA and LSU. Dropping dimes into tight coverage and all that shit. Anytime I see him play anyone else, he can’t hit the broad side of a barn. I respect it tbh

Given our entire defense is sitting out the bowl game and he isn't, I expect him to shred us.

Dylan hadn't even officially committed here yet until Dec 18th. I suspect it was Nebraska that 'moved on' from McCord.
Would Nebraska have won another game or two under McCord? Possibly.

However, I'm happy to be bowl bound in spite of having a true freshman QB and going into next season without having to start completely over with a guy having zero college experience under center.
Dylan needs to spend a lot of his personal time in the film room this off season.

Dumbest question ever. The guy threw 5 picks in one game this year in the shit ACC and he led the nation in picks. Think about that.

He is exactly who we thought he was...a two pump chump.

The better question: Did they get another two pump chump? Definitely could be the case but at least one more game to prove he isn't one.

What about Jadyn Davis?

Who knows about him. Maybe he’ll develop into something functional, it’s clear he wasn’t this year and that’s all we really know. Sounds like he was the backup QB by the end of the year but only played like a snap in tje northwestern game

2024 Howard has been better than 2023 McCord in nearly every passing metric, and gives the additional rushing production. Plus OSU had a fully healthy OL and Marvin Harrison last year. And oh yeah, they didn't have Chip Kelly throwing away a game we should have won decisively because he insisted on running the ball repeatedly up the gut for no gain.

I would think same result. Does Milroe play better or worse against Oregon? Who knows

Michigan loss it was play calling not the QB's fault imo

Milroe and Howard both seem like above average QB's on a good day
