Curious how the CFP would handle this

The west coast has Las Vegas, Glendale, LA, Pasadena, maybe even Levi Stadium.

Meanwhile the South has, New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami and yet every game seems to be in Atlanta
Build a domed stadium and they will come.

Atlanta is like the money laundering scheme for Georgia to continue to play at and cry they play too many neutral site games

UGA has played in 6 playoffs games. The only one they lost was in Atlanta

Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, NCGs in Indy and LA didn’t seem to hinder us too much
Louisiana State U. lost a National Championship Game in the Superdome in New Orleans, LOUISIANA.

Shit happens, duck. Get over it.

Oregon was over confident. They claim they sat Stewart because of a nagging back injury and didn't want to make it worse, but he was fully suited up and dancing on the sidelines while the WR wearing number 1 was puking during a timeout. What were they saving Stewart for, the next round? He put up great numbers in the first matchup with tOSU but benched for being hurt, but well enough to be out there dancing like a fruit?

Nah, Lanning was probably talking all month about how "we beat em once, lets just do it again" and they were over confident.
They were also exposed. Zero vertical passing game, which should not be a surprise given their QB is 5'8 and has a rag arm. 10-15 yard screens, under coverage is all he can do effectively.

The Champions of the P4 get bye ... that would have been Oregon, Georgia, Arizona State and Clemson.

Having a Bye Week give you a huge advantage (as it should).

Disagree a little. The P4 champs should get an auto-bid, but not an auto-bye. Get the 12 team field set, then seed everyone.

NCAA gonna feel bad for Dillon and give him a 13th year of eligibility you think?

He has good ability to extend plays and (despite being sacked 8 times) make plays out of the pocket. If I were Lanning, I would have moved the pocket more.

Lanning looked like he was trying to figure out on the fly how to even create a pocket.

RPO's are the sweet spot for a player like that. Get him out in space and read. Lanning seemed to think he had Dan Fouts back there

Miami will draft Dillon in the 4th or 5th round and he will be the perfect injury replacement for Tua. Both are sweet throwing lefties who are healthy for 8 games a season.

So like baseball they can platoon and actually get 16-18 starts

The only thing that would have made this game better would have been for the second round games to be played at home stadiums. Watching the ducks get slaughtered at Autzen would have been glorious.

The College Football Playoff expanded this year to 12 teams. Did the equate, or did the college football world, take into account for if you have a situation where a team only has one loss, that coming in the playoffs but a 2 loss team wins the national championship or if the two teams in the national championship game lost to that undefeated team?

For example, Oregon entered the playoffs as the #1 team and undefeated. The Ducks beat Ohio State and Penn State, two playoff teams and two teams in the playoffs. The Ducks won the B1G which both Ohio State and Penn State are apart of. Oregon only suffered one loss, which came in the playoffs. They only got one game in the playoffs to play while the other two got an extra game.

What if Ohio State and Penn State played in the national championship game? Where does that put Oregon? A possible debate for a share of the national championship? I mean the Ducks beat both of them and potentially will have less losses than the winner. Penn State is 0-1 vs the Ducks and Ohio State would be 1-1. Seems this is a plausible scenario the CFB world forgot to iron out when they put together the bracket. Major flaw in their playoff ranking and bracket. Another reason the system needs a complete overhaul and revamp for next year and year's moving forward. We can't have this mistake happening again and we can't punish the #1 team in the country for going undefeated and winning their conference championship. No other sport have I seen such an asinine playoff ranking setup.
Your team got bitchslapped

Sure, ASU played good against Texas. But the only reason OSU was the 8 seed was because of the AQ bye.

And yeah, OSU was the 8 seed in part because they lost to Michigan, but even had they beaten Michigan, PSU or ND would have been the 8 seed. So you still have the problem of the 8 seed being much better than the 3 and 4 seeds.
The problem with the AQ conference bye is when you have shitty teams. If the ACC/B12 conference champs are good, then I don't mind the AQ byes. Conference champions should be rewarded. Being in a conference should be rewarded - wink, wink.

The line you heard people say is that the AQ byes were brought up in a time when the P5 conferences were considered more equal. I think it is too early to say that is not still true. SEC teams laid eggs, and Indiana gets beat by ASU and BYU, IMO. It may be too soon to simply throw that out, as it really devalues the conference championship games. If you play in one and win it, but have to play 2 weeks later while a team that wasn't in their conference championship game not only gets championship week off, but also a bye, that's unfair as shit.

Take a no. 4 ND who gets 5 weeks off ... no way that should happen.
