What Was Your Go To Beer In College?

Necessity is the mother of invention. Milwaukee’s Best was the most affordable, along with Old Swillwaukee was another one.

High school was Black Label. We would spike it with a snort of Everclear. It was the cheapest….that and Lone Star.

I was in the military when I went to college, but the standard beer in the barracks in the 80s was a case of Busch Light.

We always bought Milwaukee’s Best Light and called it the “Beast” and occasionally we would get Natural Light if they were out but it always felt fancy or pretentious. I couldn’t even take a guess how many gallons of it we drank between high school and college.

Something like Miller Light was considered showing off and you got made fun of.
“Ice” beers started becoming the rage when I was in college so yes I’m ashamed to say we had Natty Ice when we thought we were living like kings.

75 cent pint nights at the bars!

I feel like we did mostly Busch Light. Remember doing Natty Light sometimes too.

Same, seemed to be Busch then later in the night it was Natty Lite because funds were low

there was a bar we went to that had budweiser on tap for 85 cents

pop was a dollar

Beer was the economical choice

They eventually switched to Busch light as prices of kegs increased and did ultimately have to raise their price to ~1.50 or something like that....I still try to stop there when I go to my old stomping grounds, although it's much more expensive now.

In high school we drank what we could get, my dad kept the garage fridge full of Old Milwaukee, my buddy's dad kept their fridge full of Blatz or if we had to get our own it was Stroh's because it was a 30 pack.

After high school I joined the military and it was

Whatever was cold.

Bilbos, the pizza place at the end of the street, brewed their own. Lot of hammered nights off of Sledgehammer. Was like four bucks a quart.

Pony kegs of Two Hearted were a favorite. So were dirty thirties of Busch Lite.

Nothing beats taking back cans, for more beer.

haha those bowling pin michelob bottles were the best, they need to bring them back.

Our local brewery invented the beer ball. It was a staple for high school gatherings. Cheaper and more portable than a keg.
