My wife does all the grocery shopping.
Depending on what she needs and the best price, it will be.....

Aldi
Trader Joes
Costco
Winco
Sam's Club
Homeland
and wherever the fuck

Aren't you fuckers married ??
My wife does all the shopping, but it's all my fucking money. So it's "we" to me.

Kroger for soft drinks, meats and ice cream.
WalMart for just about everything else.

I do the majority of the shopping on my way home from work since it's not out of my way, and it gives me time to decompress from work so I don't bring it home to the kids. Wife works 2 miles from home and the only "store" near the house is Dollar General.

Just my local Mom&Pop grocery store in the small town a couple miles away for the most part.

Everything (other than fresh meats) is more expensive than big box grocery stores, but I ain't driving 30+ miles round trip to get to one unless it's something the Mom&Pop doesn't carry.

Big box grocery stores buy in considerably higher bulk so they get better deals from the distributer and therefore can offer better prices to customers. They also have more variety.

I also see it as a "Use it or lose it" scenario. If I just need something like bread or milk I'll go ahead and do the rest of my shopping (some impulse) at the Mom&Pop.
Paying an extra $.30 for a loaf of bread is worth it to keep the Mom&Pop from going out of business and me having to drive 30+ miles round trip for that loaf of bread.

Nearest Kroger or safeway and I load all the digital coupons I can. For fish, I go to Chinese and Korean supermarkets since they have the freshest fish and much more of a selection of species.

I only get non perishables and non food from grocery stores and Wal-Mart delivers now, so I don’t even have to go in. I kill/catch probably half my meat(process it myself too), the rest I get from a local butcher. Hit up the produce stand for fruits, veggies and boiled peanuts.

Trust someone else to pick out my food? Brother, I’ll spend ten minutes looking for the best bag of grapes. You want me to eat an apple with a weird scratch on it? Peasant.

I have two stores near me that are across the street from one another, a Kroger and a HEB. If I have to go into the store, I’ll typically go to Kroger because Texans have some weird fixation on HEB and it’s always a fucking zoo. I will say, they have better meat so if I’m smoking or grilling I’ll tough it out and go to HEB. If we have time to do a pickup order, we will go to HEB just because it’s an easier process.

LOL

What is the deal with Texans and HEB?
I remember visiting my father, then being back for his funeral, and both times a bunch of relatives acted like HEB was the be all/end all. They were also beside themselves I'd never been to a Walmart, and, the best part, very confused as to how someone who lives in California knows how to make guacamole. No, I'm not kidding. Anyway, these people were from San Antonio, Austin, and Temple (with Rosebud and Zabcikville thrown in), and they were all obsessed with HEB.

Closest store wins for me... I'm a one mile walk from the grocery store. Good exercise for me and THEN I can wander down to the waterfront for some 12-16 oz curls for the rest of my fitness training goals...

:pop2: :martini:

AH-HA!

for non-perishables and random crap, kroger

for meat/eggs/dairy stuff: meijer

and there are handful of items I like to get from costco.

Started doing construction work for WinCo 35 years ago, and found we could save a shit ton of money shopping there. My wife goes once a week, and if she needs anything during the week I pick it up,since I’m in 2-3 WinCo’s a day. We raise most of the meat we eat.

Yep, and since the pandemic mine hasn't set foot in a grocery store. She is addicted to ordering and curbside i.e. the Chicken gets it

No love for Safeway?
