I'm just the opposite. I like beets, but I thought the two beers with beet juice I've had were some of the most disgusting I've ever tasted.

we have a toaster oven I use to make my toast, but I watch it like a hawk. I'm very much a goldilocks when it comes to my toast...not too light, not too dark. it has to be just right, or i'll throw it out. pisses off the wife to no end when I do that.

My son told me he tried to cash a check at this same bank because he was driving down to Arkansas to buy a tractor. $8000.
Drive through guy says We can't cash a check this large at the window.
Sons says Yeah well the main bank is closed.
Drive through guy says Sorry sir.
Son says OK, I'm leaving here and writing a check for $50,000 and depositing it in another bank if they'll agree to let me keep $8000 of it, I'm sure they will. I'll just close my account here.
Drive through guy begs him to stay, calls manager, immediately counts out $8000.

I had something similar happen.

I was buying a house and needed a certified check to close. I went to my regular branch and they told me that I couldn't withdrawn that amount of money without writing a check for it.

Slinky: Well, unfortunately, I don't have my checkbook with me and I'm on my way to the closing now.

Teller: I'm sorry, that is the bank's policy.

Slinky: I can close my account and get all the funds today, correct?

Teller: That is correct.

Slinky: You see where I'm going with this?

She called the manager and they gave me the certified check.

Can’t say I’ve had the same experience. But almost everything sends me running to the toilet.

if it's an out of state check, they'll clear slower.

I got screwed in college when I deposited cashiers check. The teller said it would clear in 48 hours or some such. Because it was out of state cashiers check, it cleared in 10 days. It had funds to buy used car

the check car dealer bounced, and since banks run high dollar first, caused several other transactions to bounce, costing a poor college kid ~150 in fees or so. Bank refused to refund any of them

Still bitter
