Full/part time residential programs seem a bit Draconian for a suicide attempt. Usually stabilize the person, start them on meds, set up therapy.

It's been building for about a year. She started therapy/meds about 8-10 months ago when she started having suicidal thoughts and some wild delusions (reinforced by a crazy pastor she started meeting with) that she was sent by God to right the current wrongs in the world. She seemed to stabilize for awhile, but never pulled herself out of it.
I'm certainly no expert on the matter. But apparently the doctors she has right now in the hospital, Mr. Kobe, and her husband (Mr. Kobe's brother) all seem to think some sort of more intensive day program/residential treatment would be best for her. And she's apparently agreed that she'd prefer that than going back to solely the therapy/meds route.
