My son left to drive back to school. I missed him the first semester, but didn’t really realize just how much until he came back for the holidays and has now left again. I felt so depressed I had to go for a bike ride. Ended up doing 70+ just to keep from thinking.

I never realized that this was what it must have been like for my parents when I joined the Navy.

Last day of my vacation, and I'm spending it going through my emails to delete the trash before tomorrow.

I'm dreading when this time comes. 1) I'll miss the kids like crazy. 2) I'm not ready to move on to that phase of life (maybe I will be if their teen years turn difficult?)
