I'm still off today, but have to get on my computer and remind people of that or they'll keep bugging me all day.

I haven't touched this thing since Dec 18... that was a nice break.
I took 1/1-1/3 off. Longest stretch without opening my computer in nearly a year. I need to un-blur the home/work lines better. And if I can get caught up, hopefully take another 3-4 day stretch sometime soon to clear the brain. Been awake too much at night with my thoughts consumed by my cases.

Someone from my hometown, a few years younger than me, is in a coma right now after “recovering” from Covid and then developing blood clots, which is apparently one of the things they are discovering as long-term consequences.

YMMV indeed.
Look, I'm not saying this thing is nothing, or that I want to get it or anyone else for that matter, but the anecdotal stories like this are absolutely statistical outliers.

The Gophers have quite the hoops squad.....they pulled a few upsets before finally getting ranked.
they looked awful vs illinois, not great vs wi, but otherwise have been solid.

I'm a little concerned in year 8 of pitino bulk of our roster is transfers, but can't argue results (early)

This. I wouldn't ask because frankly, I don't care.
I have a limited number of kid’s names I can remember. Or care to remember. Remembering my own kids’ names is sometimes a struggle.

just got a package of black thumb tacks from Amazon that I did not order.

has my name on it though, so I bet my mom ordered them and forgot to change the address.

No you don't. Seasons over... Sorry folks. On to next year

or are you still trying to get a PS5?
I am on the lookout for someone getting rid of all their PS4 stuff

Nope. But we aren’t celebrating with my parents for a couple weeks yet and I’m waiting on my in-laws to get a little further away from the suicide situation. Don’t want my nephew associating his gift with that. So probably this week on their stuff.

The woman took down the Christmas tree and decorations last night during the night game.
Why do you call her “the woman”? Seems weird.

I wouldn’t ask someone that, but I know from experience that lots of people do ask.

Must be the social media era? Everyone just expects to know your private business.

For sure. But I certainly don’t want to be one of those statistical outliers.

Same reason I don’t smoke, try to eat good portions, stay active, take vitamins, etc. I’m playing my odds.

My first was born before what I’d call the social media era....and we got asked that most with her.

People being nosy isn’t a new phenomenon. It’s just done in a different way now.

Everyone has to give a fuck about everyone else's lives.

Mostly to self-fellate that they are doing better than their "friends"

So my 4th kid (3rd son) is due a week from today (prob sooner but that’s the date) and because everybody asks about the name, we’ve been fucking with people who ask,

My mom thinks he will be a Gunnar. Told a few neighbors he will be a Bo. Even told one nosey neighbor we might call him Ralph lol (Christmas story)

Is it normal to ask people what they’re gonna name their baby? Seems like just waiting to find out would be more polite?
I don't think it is out of the ordinary. I think people are less inclined to keep it a secret these days.

It never made sense to me why people kept their future kids' names a secret until birth.

Maybe it’s me. Ive never asked any of my friends or family members about their kids names until they were born. I just assumed it was something you didn’t talk about unless they bring it up first.

Found out yesterday that two elderly neighbors across the alley got it and aren't feeling well, but so far no hospitalization. Spent time with their kids and grandkids over Christmas.

I know we're all tired of the way we have to live right now, but hell what's a couple more months until we can get vaccinated? That's my take, anyway.

I think my SIL/BIL waited two weeks before announcing the name of their daughter.

Yep, she's an only child.

I think a lot of people ask "have you come up with a name yet" when it comes to a baby being born.

I don't think it is expected that you tell them, but I don't think it is as uncommon for people to just tell the world the kid's name rather than waiting for some big birth announcement.

that has never made sense to me. Why is it a secret?
