I never understood the concept of fast forwarding through the boring stuff. How do you know what if boring and what isn’t if you don’t watch it?I started watching Batwoman on HBOMax and it’s better than I thought it would be and trending better than Flash.
Arrow is the best by far but this one could be the second best followed by flash but everything else is basically unwatchable.
I have to watch these shows on demand so I can fast forward through the filler.
Basically I fast forward through the predictable parts like 3 to 5 minutes of “our relationship is struggling because you don’t have time for me and you need to make time” or “I never meant to hurt you and I will do whatever I can to make it up to you” or if you can tell a fight is going to last FOREVER I’ll watch the start and the end. Flashbacks can be a big waste of time also because you know the sister died and don’t need to watch it happen every other episode.I never understood the concept of fast forwarding through the boring stuff. Fair enough.Basically I fast forward through the predictable parts like 3 to 5 minutes of “our relationship is struggling because you don’t have time for me and you need to make time” or “I never meant to hurt you and I will do whatever I can to make it up to you” or if you can tell a fight is going to last FOREVER I’ll watch the start and the end. Occasionally I’ll miss something important but they always rehash it over and over.
Then there’s the entire filler episode that does not support the main storyline of the season but just there to get the number of episodes the network ordered. I’ll catch wind of that pretty early and fast forward through most of that episode.
If you have to rewind no sweat but I’ll watch probably 40 minutes of every hour when you cut out re-caps, next episode previews and the fluff.
I really don’t care for anything on CW. I liked arrow but it went on for about 2 seasons too long IMO. This Batwoman show I didn’t even want to start but decided to just because I was looking for something new.Fair enough.
But imho, that stuff is still context and is needed to understand the motivations of the characters. If it gets to the point that that is taking over the story, and you feel like fast forwarding through a quarter of the show or whatever, I think it is time to save that final 40 mins as well.
Thats what I have done with the entire Arrowverse at this point (and is now my default position on everything CW).
Titans and Doom Patrol are in another DC Universe. They are embracing the muti-verse at DC. An example is the Joker in the movies.Doom patrol got a little... weird, but overall was good enough to continue watching. Titans was good as well (though I didn’t like that they (a) actually showed Bruce in such a main way and (b) didn’t cast Kevin Conroy in the role. I don’t mind Iain Glen, but he just never looked like Batman to me).
Doom Patrol was initially intended to be in the same universe at Titans (it had a backdoor pilot in Titans, after all) but I understand that they changed their mind midway through and now they are in their own stand alone universes (the think the recasting of Chief is their “reasoning”).Titans and Doom Patrol are in another DC Universe. Wait. Titans and Doom Patrol are in separate universes now? That's kinda dumb.Doom Patrol was initially intended to be in the same universe at Titans (it had a backdoor pilot in Titans, after all) but I understand that they changed their mind midway through and now they are in their own stand alone universes (the think the recasting of Chief is their “reasoning”).
