Man. That's a great one. I'm not even sure where to begin picking my favorite Stones song. So many fantastic songs.

The Rolling Stones are not my personal favorite band, but I absolutely consider them the best rock 'n' roll band to ever walk the planet.

I'm talking rock 'n' roll opus, which I don't consider Gimme Shelter.

Trying to think if I'd consider any other RS songs opuses. Maybe Sympathy.

I still remember hearing that for the first time as a young kid in the car my Dad was driving on vacation one year. We never heard rock or pop in the car because parents always had in on country.

I became a big fan of rock and roll that day.

Difference of taste. IMO, Gimme Shelter is #1 rocksong of all time. I understand if you don't agree.

Funny part about that is, I heard it by accident. We must have been in a strange town and he was looking for another station and got that one.

The "large scale" is probably the lynch pin for me.

As it relates to a song, I guess I like something massive, with sweeping changes, and it also helps in this context if it's touched a lot of people.

I think of Hey Jude, and Stairway To Heaven.
