No percentage did not change... Unless I am reading it wrong it is actually getting rid of that 1.5% cash back and replacing that with mileage. I don't fly and how is that even an upgrade to begin with?

Usually, the miles will have more value to them than what you would get for cash back. Like one of my chase points is worth 1.5 cents, I think. So when I get 3 points for eating out, I get 4.5 cents of value. There aren't many 4+% cash back cards out there.

but the "miles" only are used for air fare correct? You can't actually take that as cash back, correct?

Depends on the card.

Some are miles only.
Some let you convert "miles" to cash.

You'll have to read the terms, dawgy.
